: Lol. I got mice living on top of motor.
Madahajimoto 03-27-2007, 03:27 PM Anybody else?? Might want to check it out. Between the heads I found a mouse nest on the flat aluminum surface under the intake manifold. You guys and girls might want to check yours. Musta been kinda cold and they found a nice warm spot for awhile. Now I gotta go to the local store and find one of them long mechanical prong thingys to get between and pull it out.
BlakSpyda 03-27-2007, 03:55 PM Naaaw! My problem is spiders! How Ironic! I just use dryer sheets throughout the truck. I guess they can't stand fabric softner.

Howzit. Oh shoot. I park the Armada outside so hopefully them critters will not go there. Unfortunately I experienced one of them critters three to five months ago when the cold weather started here in Norcal. The rat ate through my Mini Cooper's spark plug wires ($120 to replace) and the rat nested in my bmw's engine cover :(
I keep my garage clean of clutter but unfortunately the wifey left dog food inside and some how the rats got in. So I did some minor construction to plug up everysingle hole - so far so good
Campfamily 03-27-2007, 06:23 PM My neighbors got rid of a bunch of ivy a few years back, and we immediately got infested with rats in our garage. They chewed through the distributor cap, plug wires, and air box on our 4runner, as well as a bunch of wires. Ended up spending almost $500 to set it all right. I tried filing a claim with my insurance company, but they told me I had to use my homeowner's policy, which had a higher deductible. Now, whenever I see one of my neighbors getting rid of ground cover, I bait a bunch of traps and leave D-Con out everywhere.

GET THEM OUT OF THERE!!! DO NOT TAKE IT LIGHTLY!!! DO NOT WASTE ANY TIME!!!
I know exactly what Campfamily means, they can be VERY destructive and cost you a bunch of money and grief. They city rerouted a storm canal and constructed a new road behind my house 8-9 years ago and we were invaded. I battled rats, mice, possums...etc for over year and was lucky to have escaped with as little damage as I did, they will chew up just about anything.

same danm problem here.... could you explain the dryer sheets thing... please... do you rub them on the seats or just leave the sheets on the car?? does it really help... i am sooo tired of it, sometimes i feel like a big bug magnet... grrrrrrr
:pullout:
Madahajimoto 03-28-2007, 04:24 AM Yeah, I was thinking about that too today. I think they are mice though. I bought one of those mechanical probe thingys with the prongs for 5 bucks. Got it out, no mice in there but it was clutter jute carpet. I looked around hoping they got it from somewhere else. Because the material is starting to look familiar. I keep the truck in one of those enclosed canopys. Im gonna start spreading some decon tomorrow.

Shop vac with an extension will cure that spider problem bro.
BlakSpyda 03-28-2007, 10:05 AM Shop vac with an extension will cure that spider problem bro. That it does, but it doesn't stop 'em from crawling in after you suck up the ones already in there. For some reason, they hate fresh dryer sheets.

I just place them throughout the vehicle in compartments and corners. I haven't seen any since I did it last year. That reminds me, it is time to replace 'em since it is spring time.
Madahajimoto 03-28-2007, 01:52 PM Well, I scatter some d-con around the truck on the ground. Man I feel for those cute aligator lizards I got around the house.
BlakSpyda 03-28-2007, 02:27 PM During the Spring and Summer you can just see the spider webs from the trees. The spiders take advantage when there is a breeze to venture out and find new homes. I don't want to spray the trees either!

Hmmmmmmmm my commuter car ( Civic) was infested with spiders last year.... This city girl aint used to that kinda stuff...wish I had known about the dryer sheets.... I use Lavender & vanilla scented Downy Simple Pleasures.... Lets just hope they critters dont like those cuz they are going in the current commuter car (Protege) TODAY!!
I have a big marshland behind my house and have seen snakeskin in my yard
( no live ones yet)... If one of those things crawl up in my Mada, me & Smokey may have to part ways for a bit... Im a 5'9'' PUNK!!
Madahajimoto 03-29-2007, 12:07 PM wait, im confused. Is the sheets like a magnetic force field with so much static that it just starts to rip thier skins off the spiders or the mice??
BlakSpyda 03-29-2007, 12:11 PM Hey ChicaMada, any dryer sheet will probably do.
A city girl with a marsh and snake. What city are you from and where are you now?

Madahajimoto 03-29-2007, 01:08 PM Yep, thats me. i live in horse****, rabbit, lizard, snake community too. I need a cat again, damn birds keep pecking at my car mirrors thinking they are trying to set their friends free and the mice problem. but the last one I had got aten by coyotes. Im gonna get an orange tabby this time. Hopefully it will blend in better with the inviroment. Sooo, how does the softner work again?? Some type of static magnetic field or something? And it works on mice too?? Im not going over wires and the likes in the engine bay. I dont have problems with rodents in my cab.

RMARMADA 03-29-2007, 06:35 PM I used primarily bounce sheets (spiders and mice) and then l used them Victor rat baits and it works like a charm
