: Need Help With PRG lift Kit?....
OUrmada808 04-09-2007, 01:03 AM Just Ordered my PRG 2.5" mini lift kit for my Mada. I am having such difficult decision trying to figure out the heck size rims and tires i can stuff under this bad boy. I want to go with a 17" rim really simple and not to bling bling. here is what i want to run. I want to run some 17"x10" with some 31's or even 33's. Or the other one is 18"x9"/10". I will be running some 12.5" tires. I want to go big but not to big and i like this kit. I did some of my research and only found things about the kit and not about what fits under the SUV with the kit.. I need some help please....
Chris03HD 04-09-2007, 08:09 AM Call Greg at PRG, he knows just about every possiable wheel tire backspace question on the Titan and Armada for his kits.
NewbieDrew 04-09-2007, 09:17 AM You could also get some wheel spacers to make more combos work. Might put additional stress on the front suspension. Make sure you don't forget to compare the weight of the new rims with the stock weight along with backspace, width, and height.
norcal05SE 04-09-2007, 11:29 AM i've got the daystar lift on order. it sits the same height as the prg. i'm gonna run some 18x9s with a 325/60-18. This is a 33.6x12.6 tire. you could run any 33x12.5-17 or 18. if you're lookin for a mud tire, check out razzlee's ride, hes got the 33x12.5-18 toyo m/t.
Chris03HD 04-09-2007, 12:35 PM After reading reviews of the DayStar lifts from the Titan forums, id return it, and go PRG.
norcal05SE 04-10-2007, 12:18 AM i've had daystar lifts on my two tacomas, and had their front spacers on my jeep wrangler. never had a problem. what kinda problems those guys havin? i dont really see how you can screw up a little spacer?!? all of mine were great. i should add i get the daystar stuff at cost plus 10% through my job, so its about half the price of the prg. they'd really have to make a ****ty product for me to spend twice the cash.

Guys reporting of ****ty alighnments, quality of the product, and so on. PRG is a suspension god around the Titan forums. Maybe DayStar changed their kits since all the fuss.. just reporting what I have read, but its his money, he can do as he pleases.

I've read the same things on there. From my understanding, some of the guys have had to replace suspension parts (primarily spindles [whatever those are]) that were damaged from using the DayStar kits.
You might just want to do a search for Daystar on both ClubTitan.org (http://www.ClubTitan.org) and TitanTalk.com (http://www.titantalk.com/) before installing just to make sure that's what you want to do.
For all I know, I may be getting the Leveling Kits confused with the Lift Kits but I am curious to hear how the Daystar works out though.

Chris03HD 04-10-2007, 02:38 PM I believe the DayStar kits, as most DayStar kits are, are hard rubber, NOT CNC'd out of a billet piece of aluminum. This would explain why parts were wearing under flex.
92TripleBlack 04-10-2007, 03:53 PM I run 33.2 without the kit. Stock is 32.6". You were saying 31 or 33, I believe you may be able to go 35". Some have gone to 38" with the 6" lift. Check with Greg. Also, wider than 305 and you will really start bulging out of the fender wells. This means you will constantly have mud and rocks flung onto the sides of your armada unless you put on flares front and rear. Mine stick out a little and I have this problem to some degree already. Hope this helps.
OUrmada808 04-11-2007, 02:53 AM wow sorry for all the confusion for all... i just need to know some tires and did not want to start anything. i appreciate all the help from all you brothers and sisters. to go on to the reason why i have gone with this kit because it is not a hard rubbery substance and it is CNC aluminum. i have been doing my research and i love the PRG kit. Thank you guys for all the help. hope to show all of you guys the before and after pics. i will also post up some pics of my interior also.
