Anybody having problems with their car lounging forward after the ebrake is applied, and hearing a thud noise as if the tranny was holding it in place? Is this bad on our SUV's or normal?? Been doing it ever since I owned it.

Only when parked on an angle. If you apply your parking brake before you put it in park it should take the stress off the tranny!
Lounging forward after the ebrake is applied??? Are you sure that the brake is holding? If it is, then like Spyda said, you have to apply it before shifting into Park.

Yea, I do that. I called the dealership up and talked to a service guy. He said the thunk is your rear parking brakes, not your tranny. My bad.

You might not be pushing (engaging) the foot brake hard enough. If you lightly hit the e-brake pedal, it's like lightly engaging the real brakes, and the vehicle will roll a bit (causing groans, and or thunks).

Sounds like the E-Brakes need to be worked on then.
