: sylvania ultrastars
jon_8558 04-16-2007, 08:21 PM after hearing how easy it was for everyone else to install these, i gave it a shot on my own. installation was really a snap even for me, and i cant wait till the night time to check em out. now i just have to wait for my satellite kit to get in tomorrow. this place is really bad for the wallet!
BacaraArmada 04-17-2007, 01:35 PM These things are awesome. Bought the 9006 low beams from Checker. Were 50, but got them for 30 after rebates. Much brighter and whiter.
Colbyr82 04-17-2007, 01:57 PM I got a pair last Friday. I'm not sure I was too impressed. Install was easy though took me 15 mins in the dark with a flash light.

I was comparing to the foglight color. Prior to bulbs my fogs and low beams were the same yellowish color. Now I can see exactly where my foglights end and low beams begin. I think they will really help out in the middle of no where when there are no other lights.
Colbyr82 04-17-2007, 02:54 PM They are brighter don't get me wrong. I installed one and compared it was noticeable whiter. I'm not sure it was worth the fifty bucks though. Maybe the thirty dollars like you paid was more of a reasonable price. I live in the middle of nowhere and it is always pitch black out. I'm just going to have to save up for some HID lights I guess.

I was thinking of the same since burtman's has both the headlights and now the fog lights (881).
Chris03HD 04-18-2007, 08:34 AM UltraStars? Ive only used SilverStars before.. is that a newer bulb out now from them?

I think it is new from what i read on the site (it says newest). Not sure what ones you have seen that chart might help.
Chris03HD 04-18-2007, 09:40 AM Wonder how they compare to their SilverStars
jon_8558 04-18-2007, 11:10 AM i installed the ultras and i'm impressed with the light over the stock. i want to do the fog lights in the same bulbs now too. i was able to get both the high and low beam bulbs for about $56.00.

Suipposed to be more white and a little brighter. Probably due to more visible light. I'll replace mine with these but I'm waiting until I burn my current ones out first. ;)

TB, thought you had HIDs.

They are whiter than the SilverStars. I had SilverStars in both HI and Low beams. One of my Low beams burned out, so I replaced both Lows with the Ultras. With the lights on HI, when both Low and Hi are on, you can see that the Ultras are whiter than the regular SSs.
GottaMada 04-19-2007, 12:31 AM Wonder how they compare to their SilverStars
I have plain SilverStars in my I30 and they are much more yellow in color. I can't compare brightness though. They are totally different bulbs (H4 vs 9006).

2X, I thought you had a JDM HID kit installed.
