rattanak 04-01-2005, 09:02 PM Just bought this Galaxy SE on March 31, 2005 from Gresham Nissan in Portland, OR. The only options are Bose, mud guards and several floor mats.

Beautiful truck. Is that going to fit in that garage in the background??
rattanak 04-01-2005, 09:09 PM Thanks Andy. It will fit the garage, but I have to collapse the mirrors.

Hello rattanak. Congrats on the new purchase! I wanted a galaxy color also but my wife didn't want me to spend 2 days a week waxing the Armada in the garage. So we agreed on smoke. I still want galaxy though. I'm just jealous. :)

My wife wanted a smoke Armada so bad. We spent 3 weeks looking for a smoke one. The ones they have were far away out of town. I did not want them to deliver to the local dealer. On March 31 it was the last day for incentives, so my wife decided to buy the galaxy over the red brawn, canteen, and silver. I wish Nissan adds a medium blue to the Armada line. This galaxy has some kind of metalic sparkles, very different form super black. My wife still misses the smoke one. My wife is very jealous, too, and still wish we got the smoke.
Thanks
Rattanak
rattanak 05-12-2005, 09:31 PM I just got these wheels and tires from America's Tire Co. They are very simple MB Motoring Smooth mirror machined finish 18x9 w/ Goodyear Wrangler 265/70/18 stock size. I was up to 80 MPH with no vibration, and I was very surprise on the custom wheels. The Goodyear rubber actually is softer than the conti rubber, and I can feel the ride is smoother.
Honestly, the Armada looks good in any size of wheels and tires. But I decided to go with stock size wheels and tires for many reasons.
The stock smoke wheels do not look that good on galaxy. But they do look good on majestic blue (if Nissan will paint one) or smoke Armada.
At 80 MPH, the RPM is at about 2000 with stock size tires and w/o tow pkg. I thought it would be 2500. What about everyone else? I should of post this question in the General Discussions.
adjmcloon 05-12-2005, 11:35 PM Looks great! Man I love the galaxy...
92TripleBlack 05-12-2005, 11:46 PM Looks nice. I'm not a fan of goodyear tires though. Tirerack has them rated far inferior to the stock Continental crap. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=HAS
I would have gone a different route. But I love the color. Red Brawn was my second choice, but my first joint choice if you get my drift. Seeing that I have 2 black cars, 3 wasn't going to work. :damn:
rattanak 05-13-2005, 12:58 AM Thanks to both of you, adjmcloon and 92TripleBlack.
92TripleBlack, my wife and I, our first choice was smoke and the rests were second. At the time I bought the Armada, I have 2 super black Nissans, the '99 Max and '94 pickup. We could not find the smoke. It came down to red brawn and galaxy. I wanted the red brawn just to get away from black, too, but my wife chose the galaxy. So at one point, we have 3 black vehicles. Our neighbors thought we only like black vehicles. We got rid of the '99 Max and bought the '05 Max in smoke.
I know they do not have good rating on the Goodyears I bought. The Goodyears on my '05 Max do not have good rating either. I only found Continental and Goodyear in this size. I would have chosen Michelin if they have the size I wanted. But I am happy with these Goodyears, soft and quiet ride.
I see that you have the G35. That is an awsome car, and how do you like it? My 7 year old son calls it the Skyline GTR.
92TripleBlack 05-13-2005, 01:30 AM Yeah, the size is tough. I wanted a more aggressive tread and decided to get it I had to get away from 18" rims. I didn't want to go down in size so I went up one size to 20" to get a 305 wide A/T. Personally, I would have rathered stay with my old Michelin LTX A/T that I loved or gone to Bridgestone Revos but neither were available in sizes that made sense. You'd think they'd come out with a new size that matches the stock size of a common SUV and Pickup. Guess we just got our first lift kit option and we're still waiting for our supercharger also so maybe I'm expecting too much.
If you ever decide to change, my Nittos are just as quiet as stock, as smooth as stock, and I don't know if its the width, wheel diameter, or the tire but they handle circles around the stock stuff on the road. Gotta do better in snow and off road. I'm very happy with the end result.
I also am kinda glad I did go Red Brawn because I now live in Florida and Black gets hot quick in the sunshine state. Used to live in NY. I would say my color choices matched what Henry Ford used to say," I'll make a car any color as long as its black." And I hope I didn't come off as obnoxious. Probably just a result of spending 35 years living in the blue city of NYC with a red state attitude. You need to be pretty assertive to get by. ;)

....This galaxy has some kind of metalic sparkles, very different form super black. ....
The sparkles make it look a bit like the Milky Way, - adds some depth too. I'm into it!
Black (Galaxy :) ) was the only choice for us. I don't mind the greys so much in a vehicle but I think the 'mada looks great in black. Red Brawn though was probably my 2nd choice if I would have to had to make one for the Armada.
Tripleblack, I seriously like your wheel and tire package, I live far enought away (Wa) that we shouldn't be passing on the road! Picture them on a Galaxy LE!
