So I gave in and installed an AirRaid TBS from Burtman Industries on my Mada and guess what??? No whistle??? I have no idea why but when I am in my vehicle and driving I hear no whistle. Granted when I take off in a fury I do hear a slight whistle but I remember some other post where people mentioned an annoying whistle that prompted them into taking the TBS out. Anyways I just wanted to let you guys and gals know but what concerns me is now that the throttle body has been extended, how much of the engine cover should we sand or cut to get it to mount properly? Or better yet is there a better way to do it? Let me know. Thanks.

Thanks for the post!!! That's really nice to hear!!! Have you noticed any difference in performance?? I'd also be curious about MPG gain or loss if any.

You shouldn't have to do anything to the cover. It will fit with no problems.
My Airaid TBS doesn't whistle either, never has. Just a little whosh sound as you open the throttle.

Thanks pop! I do notice the Mada is a bit more responsive. As far as the MPG's... I don't think I have noticed a huge change just yet. I guess it's something you need to see over a period of time to get an accurate account. Thanks scr38... I'll try to get to it later on tonight.

Keep us posted on the "gains" you experience.

Same for me, no whistle. I also have the Airaid Quick Fit intake, so I might nit be able to hear it.

I see a bunch of places on eBay have copied this ever so simple TB Spacer idea... and selling at way less then half.

Gonna get me one I think.

Some of those cheaper ones, you have to go out and get a new o-ring, longer bolts.

One I saw came with everything but a new gasket. Easy enough to get, so I may just try it.

Simple design that these companies are making crazy bank on! Glad to see someone made a pattern, and had their local machine shop do up a bunch. Its not rocket science here. :)

This seller has both these types..

Look at the centers..... ones just a smooth "hole" and the other is the "spiral" inside hole.....
