Your question is a lil confusing... What kind of vehicle are you talking about? If you wanted true dual exhaust, ie side pipes (hot rod) or go from an H pipe to an X pipe? Need more Info.

True duals will result in a loss of low end torque on the 5.6 engine.

Modern engines are not designed to run on a "true" dual exhaust, they need some sort of crossover pipe to run in the in the most efficient way.

This is why you have "X" and "H" pipes on dual exhaust cars (Correct me if i'm wrong, but i think Ford is the only mfg that uses a dual set up from the heads back with an H or X pipe and only do this on their V8 cars, not trucks). Some claim or look like they have duals (Chevy Z's and Vettes for example) but they really use a "Y" after the headers and sometimes just before the mufflers (some actually go into the mufflers as a single pipe but exit as 2 pipes).

Most trucks use "Y" pipes and dual before or after the muffler (this depends on the shop and what the person wants).

So, what are you wanting to do?
