Is the new Escalade quicker than our QX? What's the 1/4 on both? I know I can beat the 07 Navigator My buddy just bought one i leave him a car behind.

Its close enough to depend on the individual drivers and vehicles. ;)

The Escalade is quicker 0-60 and faster in the 1/4 mi. This is going off of magazine tests. People claim to have "bone stock" QX56 or Armadas that are faster, but I don't buy it.

It's kind of like denial on CLubTitan where folks say their Titan is faster than comparably equipped Tundra 5.7, and the fact is: No it's not.

The Nissan engine IS underrated for sure, but the Cadillac has a 6.2 401 hp/417 ft/lb torque engine and a 6 speed AT. MSN shows at 7.08 sec 0-60, 15.56 sec 1/4 mi @ 93.50 mph for a 2007 Escalade.

MSN shows a 2004 QX56 (unanimously regarded as the fastest) at 7.58 sec 0-60, 15.97 1/4 mi @ 88.90 mph.

I know these times are slow by magazine standards, but MSN doesn't "load up" the transmission before launches, they just punch it and go.

So I can here it now.......all the Nissan/Infiniti fanboys cry that it's not that big of a difference. But the truth is one is faster than the other.

I personally toasted a Tundra 5.7 by a car length 5-times in a row. Give it a try sometime, the published numbers are wrong. :D

The Navigator is pretty slow, 0-60 in 8.1 seconds but next year, it will get a 6.2L engine like the Esacalade. The Escalade goesw from 0-60 in 6.7 seconds! The QX is rated at 7.3 seconds.

Gentlemen!! We are forgetting some serious factors here. Engine displacement and horsepower isn't all. There's weight distribution to be factored in. When the 02-06 Q45 debutted with its 345hp 4.5 it couldn't leave the LS 430 with 290 hp in the dust. The Lade with the 6.2 is quicker than our Mada though.

Car and driver rated it at 15.4 in the 1/4 and the Qx got a 15.6 in the 1/4. but that was the heavier 06' model. I bet the 04's might tie it or be equal. theres a video on the web somewhere of a bone stock armada running 14.9 in the 1/4.

Your QX looks great.
So if you really want to beat the Escalade, get your stock wheels back, get a CAI, and you should be able to be competitive.

Those are the slowest magazine times I've ever seen for a qx or ARmada. Most are in the low 15s, with some in the high 14s and some 0-60 in the high 6s. scr38 is running mid 14s on exhaust, intake, and a tune. And MSN is a POOR source for testing. Try a magazine like C&D or R&T.(BTW, the QX is not considered the fastest. The 2004 Armada is. It was the lightest.)

C&D 7.1 0-60 2007 QX
7.2 0-60 15.7 quarter @88 2004 QX

It ran to 60 mph: in only 7.0 seconds and cleared the quarter-mile in 15.5 seconds at 89 mph:. Car and Driver 2004 LE Armada.

The 5.6-liter DOHC 32-valve aluminum V-8 generates 305 horsepower and a best-in-test 385 pound-feet of torque, enough to propel the big Nissan to 60 mph in seven seconds flat, a wink quicker than the Durango. Car and Driver

7.1 0-60 15.34 quarter 2004 Armada SE from Truck Trend (MotorTrend)

Those wheels are really slowing you down. You should smoke a Navigator.
One more, Truck Trend has the '04 QX 56 AWD at 6.8 0-60, 15.2@89.4 in the quarter. This with the added AWD stuff. ;)

All this being said, depending on the year, 2wd vs. AWD, individual vehicle differences, individual drivers, it really is almost a toss up between us and Escalade. The Tundra is supposed to be faster, but I haven't run one yet.

While I hardly think MSN are "experts" at anything automotive. They do compile quite a bit of data that I research. But again....think about it:

Who here mashes the brake with their left foot, then depresses the accelerator pedal with their right foot, holding the vehicle still, while loading up the transmission for the quickest 0-60 times? If you do, then you'll see the Car and Driver times. If you don't, then you'll see the MSN times.

Either way, once we use Car and Driver and Motor Trend data............now we can use their times for the "ghetto" Escalade. http://autos.yahoo.com/cadillac_escalade_awd-performance/

They show a slowest of 6.7 sec 0-60 and 15.4 1/4 mi. And a fastest of 6.3 sec 0-60 and 14.8 1/4 mi. p.s. the 6.7 sec time for the Cadillac was on 22" wheels! So be aware in particular for the ghetto 'lades rolling on standard issue 18" wheels. http://www.caranddriver.com/comparisons/11508/2007-cadillac-escalade-awd.html

Here's the link to the QX56 from the same comparison as the Cadillac..... http://www.caranddriver.com/comparisons/11510/2006-infiniti-qx56-4x4.html

I'm the only one?;)

I'd still like to run one as I am skeptical but we'll see soon enough. In the mean time I just ripped up a Jaguar XJ8 0-70 when its aerodynamics took over. Kinda ticked off the owner of his $70k "sports" sedan.

I'd be more inclined to agree if we were talking 6-speed manual vehicles. But AWD and automatic transmissions make a grandma-with-balls as fast as me. ;)
