How the heck do you connect the Avic with the oem dvd player so you can watch a movie on both screens at the same time??? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Well, I had the install shop try this on my other Armada, and they gave up. I sure it can be done, but look at this thread and see if it helps. http://www.clubarmada.com/forums/showthread.php?t=196

I guess you need to get the factory dvd player working first.
This thread will show you how to do that.

Once that is done you can I guess you have to tap the video output from the factory dvd player and run it to the AVIC video input.

Are you kidding??? I just finished mine last week, PIECE OF CAKE!!! Let us know when you're ready to give it another shot, the instructions look much harder than it actually is.

One of the key tricks is to use a Pin JUMPER from an old PC Motherboard, Video Card, or Sound Card to "Jumper" the "Audio On" and "FES Enable" pins inside the Harness instead of cutting and splicing the wires. From there, it's just splicing an RCA cable into the + & - of Right and Left.

Best Buy has "Recoton" "20ft RCA Speaker Wire Extension" cords that already have the - & + seperated into seperate wires that you can easily cut, strip, and splice.

Don't forget the PIE Line Driver LD-1 that can be installed closer to your DVD Player., it helps alot.

It also helps to know that "L" on the wire diagrams are the "Blue" wires, took me a little while to figure out L is Blue, Duh!!

I am sure it is easy, but never bothered myself since I took out the factory DVD when I got it back and installed a larger screen. I have since sold that Armada and made sure on the new one that I got it without the factory DVD so I didn't even have to mess with it. Aftermarket all the way.

My DVD Player and 9" screen are both M&D that I connected to the Bose HUD.

Bishop, Looks like your Video wires coming out of the DVD Player Harness are Black/White (+) and Blue (-).

If it helps for the RCA splicing, Best Buy has "Recoton" "20ft RCA Speaker Wire Extension" cords that already have the - & + seperated into seperate wires that you can easily cut, strip, and splice. I was not comfortable digging into a standard RCA cable, so these were cheap and simplified the splicing for me. It's the 2 packs on the right. I cut them at about 1-foot to keep them just long enough for splicing and used the good cable on the left for the rest.
