i dont want LOUD.. loud at wot is fine but not while cruising. i had that in my former 200sx and 300zx among others and dont want ridiculous any more

i have been eyeing the gibson as well as the jba for exhaust.. any other suggestions? are either of these really obnoxious??

as for intake the same goes no droning.. again @ wot i dont care. eyeing the s&n, volant, injen .. but def a cai and not a short ram.. love some input thanks

IMO the Gibson single and the Volant CAI make the best combo. Others will have a different opinion.

im really eyeing the jba system.. for 2 reasons i can get it at wholesale through one of my distributors and ive heard its pretty quiet compared to others.. how does the gibson compare to the jba. it seems on one of the titan forums (dont know who we can or cant mention here) almost everyone uses the jba and on other forums everyone talks it down. the gibson is a nice system ive sold a few to guys with other branded trucks and they seem to like them. but we have had a few issues as far as quality is concerned nothing major but it was annoying. anyway how would you compare the 2?? i can get the jba for less than the alum gibson..

also thinking s&b for intake... i like the volant and hear good things.. but most say the s&b is equal or poss better and again i can get them at wholesale... thanks

Exhausts are different for us vs. titan. Different routing and different results, sound, etc. The Gibson is relatively quiet as exhausts go. I'm getting that one, I"ve heard it on an QX, and I don't want loud. I haven't heard the JBA. I say get the JBA, and if you don't like it, sell it for what you paid, which will give someone a great deal, and get the Gibson. You should be able to get the gibson in the $369 range, JBA can be had for $459.

I would agree with scr38 on this one plus as far as I remember he has the fastest 1/4 and 0-60 of us all.

I've had the JBA system for almost a year now and as a matter a fact, I didn't care for the sound. It is a straight through "glass pack" design and it "taps" like one at 3000rpm and above. Also a pretty noticable drone above 2500 RPM. Below that it sounds pretty good. The muffler is actually manufactured by K&N who are not really known for their mufflers. On the other hand, I did feel a noticable power gain which would be better if I had a CAI. If you like it mellow I'd go with the Magnaflow or Gibson. I just had the new Flowmaster Super 44 muffler installed today in place of the K&N. If your looking for quiet this is NOT the muffler for you. I'll try to get some audio clips made to share with you guys and gals who like it LOUD. I kept the K&N muffler and will sell it real cheap if you or anyone else is interested. It would be a cheaper way to see if you will like the sound.

hmmm i would have thought sound wise they would be very very similar.. thing that sucks is i really want it pretty quiet but man the price of the jba ... man this is killing me. so it was really that loud?? all the sound clips dont seem to be that bad. i have heard the gibson on a titan and personally yes it was pretty quiet but i didnt like the way it sounded at all on there. wasnt deep and kinda had a wierd tone to it.

i want a deeeeepppp tone when i get on it but not so much while just cruising. i want roar when i want it.. again though i need it quiet to talk to the family and customers when i have them in the car. i cant even imagine what the banks sounds like then if the jba is that loud.. wowowow trying to keep it to an exhaust i can order in myself and get my discounts ons. i can get the mag one but i dont want to cut my factory pipes in case i want them later and i know that needs to be cut/welded or clamped back together.

also from what i have been told by my reps k&n does not make their mufflers they are sourced and the name is put on them may not be true but thats coming from the area rep for them. also i need full stainless im in fl and the salt air wreaks havoc on alum pipes.. ill check my price on the gibson but im almost pos for stainless its more than the jba is by a decent amount..

so what really makes the titan exhaust different than ours?? other than a bit of length maybe they are the same motor with maybe a touch different ecu tuning. i have tuned cars for years and that includes nissans. ive actually been dealing with jim wolf and the like for the last 10 or so years.. i know a lot about setting up a car but not so much with the mada yet since im just learning the motor.. i do have plans for a custom turbo setup here before the end of the year though.

by "taps" chief what type of sound are you meaning?? i listened to the clips and actually like its tone reminds me more of a "race" type sound rather than the low normal v8 type tone i am used to hearing. thanks again to everyone here

the jba costs me a lot less than 459...the gibson there is not as much of a break on but still some break

By "tapping" I mean the metallic tapping sound glass packed mufflers produce at higher RPM. You know just the cheap bullet shaped mufflers you get get for $20. Thats what the JBA sounds like at higher RPM. At least that what my truck sounded like. I too was sold on their website audio clip but for me it was not the same. From what I've gathered the JBA has the smallest Y-pipe out there and the back pressure it creates gives you the best gains. Maybe you should get the JBA and replace the muffler with say a 50 series Flowmaster(3 chamber) or the 70 series which is the most mellow sounding of the lot.

This is such a difficult subject and very personal when it comes to exhausts. I went thru the same thing. believe me you will have to drive an armada with the system you're looking at because everyone's tastes are different. I don't care what system you go with you will have some drone in the mada. This cabin is so big and boomy that there's no way you won't have some drone. I had a borla (just the muffler) and hated it. Hat it cut down the following week because I couldn't hold a conversation it was loud. from what you're describing you may as well stay with the stock IMO.

am i correct that there is a separate part ## for the jba titan exhaust and the armada one or are they the same number?? some web sites list them as the same number and others have them as different ones..

i dont mind a loud exhaust but i just want it to be mellow till i romp on it.. then it can be as obnoxious as it wants.. but just around town i want it to remain civilized..

I could be wrong but I think that maybe the Titan's would be a different length. The rear of our Madas seems shorter than a Titan bed to me.
