TONS OF DIFFERENCE.. i sell both. the z series is a hard drive based system this is the number one reason i favor it. i can map while watching a movie and re-route without replacing the dvd or cd with the nav disk. on the d3 tyou can put a route in mem but if you change it the nav disk needs to go back in. the z series is far more advanced all the way around.. if you dont find what you are looking for on the above mentioned site pm me ill give you my number and ill go over it with you

I just looked at them both today and the z series is way better like zfactor is saying but it is twice the cost at about $1900 full retail.

Check around the Net.... Im seeing 'em regularly for around $1600
the price wasa bit steep for me but now that I have it in, I have no regrets except for that crappy Metra Dash kit

Does the Z1 have the same issues with bypass like the Z2 does? I'm not interested in watching movies, but I have routinely operated the nav system while driving (or had a passenger do it), so I'm not quick to buy something where I won't be able to do that.

Z let me know as well on the price.
