This is the 4th time in about two years that my card number has been stolen. The last time I started using these "Virtual" card numbers from Citibank. It is a program that generates a random cc number that you can use at online merchants and once it is used it can only be used for that merchant. You can also limit the expiration and limit of the card. I figured I was safe.

Well, another call from Citibank today and it turns out the card was stolen again from some girl who tried to setup a Yahoo account. I asked them who it was and they said "We cannot give out that information as it is in violation of our security policy"!

So basically you can steal my credit card, get all my personal information, but I have no right to find out who you are. Unbelievable.

Meanwhile, I work, I pay my taxes, and I get a speeding ticket the other day. This seems fair. Good thing I picked the wrong side of the law to live on.

Hang in there bro!!!! Sorry to hear that. Personally, I avoid anything to do with large banks with a passion because they are also large targets with thieves constantly scamming against them.

When speaking to the rep, she confirmed that this happens all the time. At least I am in good company.

It is just such a PITA to switch all my automatic billing - and I am worried about identity theft.

I went to a Wedding sunday out in Long Island (NY). After leaving the reception party.I was low on gas and pulled into the Gas station there was about six cars inline I joined in,as I got closer I realized there was one guy who was collecting the money.I pulled up to pump and he asked me if I wanted regular or 91...I told him I will pump my own...He then say "Yo I can fill you up and all you have to pay me is half of what you pump". I declined as I realize he was using a credit card to pump the gas...And probably not his...Another thing I realized for security reasons most stations ask for area code before you can pump...This station did not as I used my credit card to purchase the gas...You just have to be careful out there.....
