My friend who has a 2000 Suburban 3/4 ton w/ the 6.0 vortec got challenged by my other friend who has the previous gen. ml320. In a straight line drag race which car do you think would win? We're gonna do em' all: stop, roll, top speed, everything. Lastly how do you think the Q-ship would fair against both of em'?

The Q would whip their asses in acceleration tests. Then the ML320, then the 'Burb. The 6.0 is a decent motor, but a 3/4 ton Suburban weighs a lot.

Burb will likely be held back on the top end at around 100 mph unless it has been chipped. The ML should hit 120, and the QX is governed to 114'ish.

I used to have an ML430 that was pretty quick and would probably have left a Mada behind fairly easily but I think that the Mada/QX might be a hair quicker than a ML320. The ML's handle like a dream for an SUV though. Mine did a lot of little tossing back and forth sideways on rough roads but it cornered like a Mercedes should. Whatever you guys do, keep the top end speeds reasonable and be careful!!! You don't want to end up sideways in the Burb or QX!!

My dad's friends Qx went up to a 120 and my dad said she still has some pedal left. Ours has been up to 115 with pedal left as well. I've seen times for the ml430. its like 0-60 in mid 8 seconds. Numbers wise the only ml i can see hanging with us is the ml55 (340 hp) and runs the 1/4 in 15.2s (same as the Q). We might have a Audi Q7 lineing up too for a 4 way drag (Q included).I'll post a video if the race ever happens. Thanx guys

I think your missing the point man. We dont wanna go a million miles an hour or run a 5s 1/4 mile. We just wanna dick about and have fun w/ the trucks. Its outrageous and proposterous but we (At least i do) derive some thrill in feeling something this big and heavy move as fast as it does. Hopefully ill be dishin out some VK56DE *** whoopin ;). I dont really care about the burb and the ml its the Audi i wanna line up with.

That has nothing to do with speed. The ML320 is probably better engineered than a '70 Hemi Cuda or Shelby 427 Cobra too. :rolleyes:
