Is this a "multiple use" system or a one time thing? If it is $700, that could be easy to pay for at a meet. I've heard of a lot of guys paying $80 for the 2 degree advance. Get 7 Armadas and Titans together and it would be paid for. I'd be willing to pay $100 for this much of a gain. I've met with 2 guys from the local Titan club and they say it's for real,30hp/40trq if you have a good CAI and exhaust. I'm IN for sure.

If anywhere near VA east coast, count me in more than happy to pay $100+

The Cipher portion should work with other nissans but the flash is only one ecu.

One time use? It says it allows for multiple reflashes! So is that for 1 ECU?Sending it to UpRev is around $400 for a 3 setting MAP(valet,stock,93 oct high perf) the last I heard. Has the price of sending it in gone up? Don't mean to ask too many questions but where is the deal here?

The software is tied to your ECM only, so you can't flash others.
But this is a good deal. You tell UpRev what mods you have, if any, and what octane fuel you plan to use. They provide a map to fit your setup, you flash it in yourself. You will get three maps from them, one is the stock map, one tuned map and a valet map. You can switch back and forth whenever you wish, without any equipment being connected to your vehicle.
If you make more mods UpRev will provide tunes for those mods at no additional charge.
With the package you also get the Cipher software in the package, which costs $400.00.
So for $700.00 you are getting the $400.00 Cipher software plus Osiris, and a custom $500.00 tune. You don't have to remove and send in your ECM and be without your vehicle for about a week, can reflash to new maps when you want to, get new maps free, do data logging, code readout and reset, etc with Cipher.
So you are getting a $900.00 package for $700.00 with a lot more functions and flexibility - Thats the deal.

Make sense, seems like somebody could just make copies and sell them for half the price if it was capable. 700 bucks for 30 hps outta a computer?? Sounds like allota leaning out to get that much power out of a cpu. Whos gonna be the g-pig for this one?? I know what detonation sounds like, hate to hear it in my mada though. Might be feasable to buy a egt and af meter.

A bunch of us already did the g-pig for this one. Guys like SCR38, llajumpvid, RBsTitan, myself and countless other at the Titan sites have been running this Up Rev tune for a long time. Some like RBs have been running it for a year and he take his Titan to the track often. This mod is not for everyone but it does give guys who want a little more power an option. The other option you have is $20 for 20 HP from Ebay.:D

I doubt if 20 hps is what I get, just more black smoke and insurance for a colder chamber. Maybe if I had 1k hps and decided to add it I might see ten lol. Anybody with an Armada try the on topic system yet?? I know the cpu is different on the madas though.

SCR38 and llajumpvid both have the Up Rev tune.

Here's a dyno chart of my Titan after Up Rev tuned.

I have made several posts about the UpRev tune on my Armada. It works.
I have posted the results several times also, but for those who don't want to search for the info I will repeat it:

04 Armada SE, Big Tow, UpRev tune for 89 octane, Volant, Gibson, Airaid TBS, TB coolant bypass, stock exhaust manifolds and cats, stock wheels and Conti tires.
0-60 5.81 sec.
60' 2.1 sec
1/4 14.47 sec

I have had the UpRev tune for about eight months. No problems, no reduction in MPG. I do have severe wheel spin; I'm sure times will improve quite a bit with better traction.
Dyno numbers mean very little in the real world. With the auto transmission we can't get any readings below about 3500 RPM; and we have to dyno in third gear to keep from hitting the speed limiter before redline. If we had a way to lock the tranny in 4th we could get better readings.
The UpRev tune makes a lot more power down low, where we use it most of the time. The dyno doesn't show what gains we are getting there. But the 0-60 and 1/4 times do show the gains.
So does the UpRev tune work? Show me another Armada with a CAI and catback system but not UpRev tuned that will run these times.

Yes AEM, Banks and Up Rev tunes gave me 305.5 WHP and 370 ft/lb tq.
AEM and banks only with out the tune I was at 286.4 WHP and 342.8 ft/lb tq.

You can look here for more info. I now have the G-Tech Pro RR. These are very good, accurate devices, and a excellent way to see any differences mods make.

So the RR is better than the SS?? Oh man, my pockets are burning.

For me the advantage of the RR is the software you get with it. You can download all the data from the G-Tech and do a lot more with it on the computer. The G-Tech site explains that.
The RR also has more functions suited to road racing (hence the RR name)

I'll be posting next week some results of my 1100 mile round trip from TX to Fl along I-10. I will say I am happy with a comparison of stock and tune on the way down with about 600lbs of extra cargo and a cartop carrier.

I could swear I read somewhere on here about a fellow member in Illinois doing the 2 deg timing mod. Anyone remember who that was? Is the up rev and the 2 deg mod the same thing, or I am talking out my azz again.

I need to give the Armada some more love. Since the wife took it from me, all my time & $$ are going to the Jeep.

The UpRev Tune is more like a 2* Timing Advance on Super Steroids using the World as a Gym.

scr38
07-10-2007, 05:31 PM
Anyone who has the Cipher software and cable can do the advance, but that is not the same as the UPRev tune. The Cipher software lets you do the advance, read out and reset trouble codes and log data. It does not let you tune the engine.
You can send your ECM to UpRev to have custom tunes done, or you can buy the Osiris software and cable. Osiris lets you load custom maps provided by UpRev into the ECM. Cipher is included with Osiris, so you can data log info, send that file to UpRev and they will fine tune the map and send it back to you so you can load it into your ECM.
The Osiris package is locked to the first ECM it is connected to, it can't be used on multiple vehicles. The Cipher software can be used on multiple vehicles.
