: Clean install for Nitrous in Armada

I have installed several new cool things on my Armada; for performance, I installed JBA headers and exhaust, an Injen CAI and a TBS. I was a bit nervous to install a Cold Fusion Nitrous kit to my $50k Armada but I jumped in with both feet but not before extensive consideration to the installation process. It had to be clean and out of the way; I could not chance the wife complaining about it being in the way. I took some time and figured out a pretty cool way to hide a 10 pound nitrous bottle in my 2007 Armada. I hope the pictures come out on this post; from my engine, I ran the nitrous line down the dip stick, on top of the transmission, along the drivers side all the way back to the vents entering the rear drivers side fender compartment. From here, I drilled a hole in the side of the plastic vent cover side panel and placed a rubber grommet to give it a clean finish. I decided to remove the jack and jack storage mounting bracket. I also cut along the inner edge of the cover as to remove all plastic inserts/storage box but leaving the holes to replace the cover. By doing this, I was able to obtain enough space to store my 10 pound nitrous bottle and I figure a lot bigger one would fit as well. When I put the cover back on you will never see the bottle or any plumbing and the vents will allow for easy venting or a clean install of a blow down tube, you might even be able to splice right into the rear air drain tube that already vents to the outside. As for the solenoids, I removed the plastic cover and utilized the brass colored bracket holes by removing the original and replacing it with a fabricated piece of aluminum. This allowed for easy and secure install of the solenoids and routing of the hoses (A 9” section connects from the fuel rail adapter the others are 12” lines). Overall I am happy with the install and not that upset that I had to remove the plastic engine cover, nor do I care that I had to move my jack into the rear floor storage compartment; I like it there better anyways. If nothing else, I have a very large storage area. I hope this post will help some of you.

Special thanks to Bob at Asian Auto, Tempe Arizona and for a great buying experience from Jason Burtman of Burtman Industries.

NICE Job!!!! I was curious if a 10lb bottle would fit in there. Posted timeslips would be sweet if you feel like going that route. I saw this on CT, so you might want to keep an eye on the tranny while juicing.

I feel like I never have enough time to finish anything. As of my first posting I thought I would be driving my Armada for the first time since the mods were installed. However, my bottle was not finished cooling and filling by close of business so I have to wait another day. In the last hour of the day I located the plugs NGK Iridium plugs 1 heat range Colder (Iridium NGK LFR6AIX-11). These will be installed tonight and the bottle picked up tomorrow morning. I have a full tank of 87 octane and a wedding to attend in Tucson, this will give me time to get acquainted with the new mods and run some fuel out to find some 92 octane. I don’t plan to visit the track anytime soon since the Phoenix area is reaching about 115 degrees this time of year (119 yesterday). I will be looking for uprev next; my calls to uprev are not promising as of now for a 2007 with similar mods-no mapping. As for my shot, I will be switching between 50 and 100. I want my first spray to have a lasting impression. I am like you guys, I really would like to know what she will do now and at the same time I don’t want to trash my ride at the track when I just declared open season on Hemis and my dads Chevy.

Thanks for the comments; it was from places like this that my planning began.
