well i got the 2* timing advance. I got it done with my oil change thinking they would charge me but they did i was fine with that but then op top of that they didn't fix my driver side door the little black thing between the 2 hinges broke. i paid 86 bucks for it. But i can feel the difference and also fuel economy went to 18.5 from 17 on the high way with cruise control set at 68ish. Also i didn't dyno it or anything i just used to good old seat dyno. Also i tried to WOT it with VDC off and before i would get a cherp and now i got a good 10 to 15 ft of rubber on the street well me driveway to be exact. But well worth it and i was the first one to get it done at the stealership and the guy was all into it. Still not bad for 86 dollars it will make it back up with gas but the rubber most likely not.

Another dealer? How did they "refuse"? I would drive up and ask a tech to do it while showing him a printout of the directions. He may do it for free on the spot. If you ask on the phone, the answer is always no, but almost always yes if you show up in person. ;)

Like TB said, showing up in person with scr38's instructions printed out for them to look at makes a big difference. Seems like most of them that refuse is because of their unfamiliarity with the process and consequences.

Not true and it can be done. :D
The 07 timing is not set at 17, but still at 15.
I did the advance on a 07 last weekend at the Houston meet (I did advances for 7 trucks there). The 07 was at 15, I moved it to 17.
Most of the 12 HP gain came from the VVT on the intake cam (and the necessary ECM program for it). There is a very slight change in the intake manifold and exhaust system that may have added to the gain.
