It's on the way! I will get the VK-Pro next week. I'll be backing out the 2 degree timing advance and doing the install next weekend. I'll let everyone know what I think once it is in!!!

I never heard of it before, but i did look into it and here is the info about it if anyone is interested.

STILLEN VK-Pro Plug & Play Power Module (VK56DE)

The VK-Pro power module is a complete plug and play tuning solution for Nissan and Infiniti owners that want to take their Titan or Armada / QX56 with the VK56DE V8 engine to the top levels of NA tuning.

By altering timing and fuel STILLEN is able to optimize the power of the 5.6L V8 and provide a boost of 30 HP and 40 Lb-ft. of torque @ 3800rpm, where it's most effective. All of this power was found on a showroom stock vehicle. We’ve done all of the tuning for you on our own trucks on our in-house dyno, going through multiple revisions and refining the tune to extract the maximum power while retaining everyday reliability and drivability. It couldn’t leave the building until Steve approved. Now there is no trial and error or expensive dyno time needed, just plug in the VK-Pro and enjoy the ride.

This system is designed as a plug and play unit - easily installed and removed. Trucks with an intake, exhaust and/or headers will also see great benefits. This power module is not to be used in conjunction with any other form of computer control or a forced induction system.

Must use 91 octane fuel or higher.

Features & Benefits:

• The wiring harness is manufactured by a company which specializes in Aircraft wiring for military applications, and is made to the same quality standards and passes the same tests as wiring for military aircraft.
• Each harness is electrically tested before shipping to ensure perfect assembly and function.
• The wiring harness provides easy installation/removal in 30 minutes or less.
• Factory ECU still monitors knock sensors and all factory sensors to ensure safety and reliability.
• Currently available for 2004-2006 vehicles
• No complicated tuning. Just plug in and enjoy.
• No down time

Important Information:

• Not to be used with timing advance (Commonly Referred to as "2 Degree Advance")
• Not to be used with ECU Reflash
• Not to be used with any other computer chip / programmer / or forced induction systems.
• Not to be used with Ethanol fuel. Ethanol fuel is not a performance fuel and does not have the same burn characteristics as traditional fuel.

i imagine uprev would be better because they adjust for your entire powerband with whatever mods you have. You just can't get that kind of custom work fom a "plug & play".

The down-side of uprev is it's proximity to most of us.

Their proximity is an up-side, they are only your mailbox away. They have a new mail in tune setup now. They send you a copy of their cipher software/cable and flashing software so you can flash your ecu without having to mail it to them. Then you can do some logging of data, send the log files back to them and they will adjust as needed the tune for free....that is free after you pay for the software and first flash. It much more custom than the one-size-fits-all stillen. But I have seen a titan dyno where it had good result.

Really? Man this thing was suppose to be release last year. Delay, delay, and more delay. Over 70 unit pre sold yet only about 5 peoples have actually gotten theirs that I know of. No one has dyno it independently as of yet.:D One member who posted his dyno had his installed, tweak and dyno at Stillen.:D

Well I finally got the VK PRO today. It took me about an hour to install. I opted to not re-position the small relay box as described, but insted cut the bottom mount off with a hacksaw and zipped the unit back on top of the VK Pro harness. So far, so good. I haven't been on the beltway yet, but it is very responsive from standstill and really impressive around 4000 rpm.

Of course I backed out the 2 degree timing advance with my Cipher software prior to the install.

Question - When I hooked up the Cipher after the VK Pro install and checked the timing, it still indicates 15 degrees with +- of 0. I am thinking that the software is displaying 15 degrees as a hard figure in the program and is not reading the actual timing set by the VK Pro. Am I missing something here?

I will post pix next week and will provide updates on my driving experience......

Thanks

The 15 degree reading you are getting with Cipher is correct. The VK has a different advance curve in its map, but it is still 15 initial timing.
