: Project Giant Mouth
For anyone serious into extreme performance, this is a Must Read about a 90mm TB kit that Randy and Tommy have been putting together and selling.
At $700, Total cost spent after getting your own $150-$200 TB to install the kit on is around $900ish. High but not bad compared to the cost of other mods that would be needed to accomplish this:

Armada Brotha 07-12-2007, 03:18 PM Looks good, but those 2 rednecks must be smoking some $hit if they think folks are going to hand them over $900 for a "mom and pop" engine upgrade. Good footage though. (I was really expecting one of them to scream 'YEEHAAW' and hit the horn and it sound like the General Lee) Besides there has been no testing of this other than the 450 hours these two cowboys did, if I read the thread right. I wish them good luck.

If it helps, I did this part. :D I'm with you about waiting for further testing. Personally, that's too much green spent in the wrong direction for me regardless of testing results.

I would like to see you spend $900 on anything else and be able to beat them cowboys' truck.:D

Anything else??? You sure you want that challenge? If I can get anything else... my Gixxer will blow the mudflaps off that Titan...and it's Stock!!!!

Gixxer - Hahaha, no competition there, that Gixxer 750 will blast most anything off the road. He was referring to spending $900 on your Mada. - ROTFLMAO :D
baseballfanz 07-12-2007, 05:12 PM Anything else as in any other mods for your Mada. I don't have a problem with anyone getting anything if they don't want to, but to bash someone without knowing all facts is just wrong.
scr38 07-13-2007, 12:06 AM Very good point, BBF. Bashing and name calling is not allowed here on CA.
I can't say how much the large TB will add to performance, but it will help, especially on the Titan.
There may be people here that don't know that the ECM on the Titan is different than the one on the Armada or QX.
The Titan is lighter in the rear, has a solid axle and a longer wheel base than the Armada. All this gives less weight transfer when doing a WOT start. To reduce wheel spin the ECM on the Titan is programmed to keep the throttle from opening fully until a speed of about 40 MPH. On the Armada the throttle is opened all the way as soon as you floor it. The IRS, added weight and shorter wheelbase allows the Armada to get better traction and use the full throttle.
The TB on the PGM is 90 mm in diameter, compared to the stock 70 mm (75 on 07-08). This is an increase in cross sectional area of 210%. So at the same angle of opening you can see that the 90 mm TB will flow much more air. This allows the Titans to get the same effective air flow off the line as the Armadas.
Maybe if people know the details they won't be so quick to badmouth what others have spent hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars researching and developing.

Tommy did my two degree timing and he showed the TB to me. It looked well put together. I was definitely impressed by it. GOOD JOB TOMMY!!!!!!!!

I've personally seen it in action. Don't bash it before you try it. Trust me. A Chrysler 300C with the 5.7 Hemi could not keep up with him.

http://www.clubtitan.org/forums/showthread.php?t=31884 man, i seen this before somewhere, does your bff have a Toyota MR2??
drauden 07-13-2007, 11:09 PM I will let you know as my PGM arrived today. Hopefully it will be on tomorrow, believe it or not:
"Congrats on grabbing the #1 spot and it’s kind of funny that the first PGM unit goes out to an Armada."

Nah, this has nothing to do with me. I'm just cross-posting from CT to keep us in the loop, especially you. I figure you'll probably be all over this thing after you see a video of Drauden running a 1/4 with it and there's no telling how long they'll be offering them.

Congrats buddy!!!! Very anxiously awaiting a video of that bad-boy running on your beast!!! :D

I guess I'm a little confused. I don't know anyone with an MR2. Most of my car fanatic buddies have moved on to family things and my youngest brother's have too so the only one that I know right now who has a car that's even somewhat worth consideration is my youngest brother's buddy who bought his Supra.
I don't know anyone on CT or any other forums. I've only posted a couple times on CT until today when they started talking about getting a meet together here in Okc and I stumbled across this thread. Maybe one of the CT guys is on the MR2 forum too.

I've talked with and know you more than him so take that for whatever it's worth considering I don't know you or talk to you outside of this forum. Like I said, I just cross-posted this for CA members not for the guys selling this. Some of the guys at CT are hardcore performance nuts and are ranting and raving over this TB so I posted it here for our guys who are into trying to squeeze more horses through. With your Dyno Day tomorrow, I figured it might also give you more to boast about for your potential future mods.
If you're saying that this looks like it belongs on an MR2, we will know soon enough thanks to Drauden. I just didn't want to forget post something here about it if it turns out to be a really good deal that someone here is interested in.
TanK1 07-14-2007, 11:02 AM Love the at video of the Titan peeling out due to that upgrade. Would be nice to see an Armada take off like that...lol

The closest that I know of is PITCH BLACK's. He's in the Middle East so he's not restricted by the American EPA.

drauden 07-15-2007, 01:04 AM Ok, It is done. I am now PGM'ed.
As another owner stated, it is like having a turbo on your truck. The power surge is most noticeable from 3k to about 5.2k rpm, however I felt the surge at all levels of the power band.
As this is a very limited run, I can't be more excited about getting in on it.

Oh man!!! That's got to be the Baker's Oven.
baseballfanz 07-16-2007, 12:34 PM Here are the pictures of the 90mm TB installed.
Look good there but you need to get you a new radiator cap. Look like the one you got is spraying fluid all over your engine bay.
How's the Mada running with that bad boy on there?
drauden 07-18-2007, 05:07 PM The fluid is the leakage I had from doing the TB bypass mod.
I need help!!!!!!!!!!! I can't keep my foot off the gas pedal :-( The increase in power is very noticeable and I can't get enough of it.
So, when are we getting a video of the Rompin' BEAST ?? :D

OK, that make sense, just though you had a bad cap. As for the foot of the pedal, can't help you there.:D
It looks like DF6_Titan will be coming to our upcoming meet in Okc. He has recently installed one of these and I'm hoping that we might be able to bribe him into some video footage of a WOT run or two. <fingers crossed> :D
crazyb02 07-25-2007, 01:42 AM Here are the pictures of the 90mm TB installed.
My Goodness that looks good.
I drove DF6_Titan's truck yesterday and it was really impressive. The road was a 4 lane highway with somewhat heavy police patrol so I gave up on trying for a video.
In my opinion, the PGM with his K&N 77 Series CAI felt to me like a Turbo Charger had been added on. It's not a replacement for an S/C but definitely felt like a nice step to being the next best thing. I would suggest that anyone looking at performance mods should take a ride in one of these beasts.
norcal05SE 08-19-2007, 04:32 PM its really $900 though, huh? i'd be interested, but thats alot of cash.
It's a Whole LOT of cash. I think you'd have to be very serious about performance though without wanting to go the route of an S/C. Like I said, anyone considering it would need to take a ride to judge for themselves before buying one. It really was quite impressive to me considering that getting a Turbo is not an option. I'd still like to see how one does on the 1/4 track rather than judging by watching the Speedometer accelerate but she definitely sounded like she was breathing a whole lot better.
Thrust_Titan 08-25-2007, 05:50 PM Thanks Pops, baseballfanz, scr38, crazyb02, drauden and TanK1,

Yes it is, the costs are high and the profits are low and this is why we will not do it continuously. It’s not worth it for us. We will do it again when we have the extra time. The only reason we had for making it for other members was to share in the experience. This mod will really put you into your seat and for those who would like a custom performance part that will work extremely well, this maybe for them.

Thank you, for wishing the two of us good luck, that was very kind of you. BTW, does the gd-ais stand for General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems. Hmmm?
I’m sorry to see that you would criticize something without first hand knowledge. That concerns me with your possible position at work.

Madahajimoto 08-26-2007, 05:37 PM Yeah, there was this guy on teh mr2oc.com in the "other car" section that had a Titan. He was working on a prototype tb with coolant running thru the tb with a pump. I thought it was one of you guys. He claimed a seven hp gain and dynoed it numerous times. The projected price @ 175 bucks. This was a year ago.
Thrust_Titan 08-27-2007, 12:42 AM I did some looking over at MR2 and found what you are talking about. It has nothing to do with a 90mm throttle body it’s a Throttle Body Intercooler that I came up with. The one who posted it was shailey, He did the first dyno on that setup so I gave him ½ on the patent, you can read up on it at: http://www.clubtitan.org/forums/showthread.php?t=13658
