Not exactly an exterior mod post, but an exterior ques. What product(s) to you guys use to clean your front brumper chrome. I like out in the farmlands of AMISH-land PA. ANd during the summers when they spread that $#it on the ground bugs are everywhere and espcially on the nice big, was once shiny chrome front end.

I used to use Amway Bug and Tar removed - but they dont make it any more - IT WAS THE BEST.

I have used Turtle Wax Tar and bug, but i seem to use A LOT of it.

Is there any "stuff" i could apply to the front to allow for easier cleaning or splattered bugs

Any suggestions would be appreciate.

I've just been using the Rain-X Bug & Tar Pre-wash Gel, a soft bristled scrub brush w/ some elbow grease while washing, and McGuire's Chrome Polish.

Have you tried waxing it with one of the synthetic waxes like Mothers FX or Meguiars NXT... thinking that this would help with not allowing stuff to "stick", and make cleanup easier.

Power washer. It isn't metal chrome, its plastic, so it just blasts clean. A littke soap and water works also.

hey I live in fla and I use bounce (the fabric softeners) just wet the sheet and wipe your car and then wash the car.It will take the bugs/tree sap/road grime right off and it dont hurt the paint. I have a 07 mada on 22's and every wash that is what I use

Funny you brought that up cuz I just spent over an hour polishing up the wheels on my Beemer. I have some old Turtle wax chrome polisher...and DAMN are they sparkling now...lol
Like the other fellas mentioned...Meguiars, Mother's will work just as good, if not better.

I use Turtle's Bugs and Tar remover to get rid of anything heavy. After wash I use Mother's chrome polish with the help of a Powerball on all chrome parts.

OK now. That is a new one. I use the dryer sheets in the truck to keep spiders out!

You are saying that wet Bounce dryer sheets remove bugs. I guess with you living in FL and hitting all of those Love Bugs, you would know. WOW.

I have heard that before but didn't beleive it or try it. I did this weekend. Holy cow - they work FANTASTIC. Only took 2 to do the entire front bumper and grill. Also worked will in the wheel wells for tar.

i've been sold on English Customs for several years now. three of the products i constantly use are:

- Metal Polish Restorer and Cleaner
- Showblend Polish
- Custom Blend Polish

bug and tar literally hoses right off and it keeps the chrome looking proper.
