Just called Nissan the other day and got a quote for the center fold down monitor and 2 headrests. This is what I was told and I was like...You gotta be $hittin' me!
$1500 for the center fold down and another
$2200 for the headrests
_____
$3700 + tax:mad:

Now is it just me or is that way OVERPRICED!!!
Any suggestions on outside companies I can go to that will give me a better price and quality work???

Yep!!! If you're looking at adding the OEM DVD Player and Screen to a non-DVD Armada like I was, it's $3500 minimum just for the flip down screen and player. That's when M&D started looking REALLY GOOD. Now, I would've deeply regretted OEM. Go for the M&D for the flip down. Their headrests look ok too but all headrest monitors seem overpriced to me.

If I were to add anything else, it would be a DVD Screen that mounts and looks like the OEM Nav screen so a DVD can be seen up front too.

Thanks for the tip Pops...funny you say M&D because I went to Circuit City last night and I must have heard "M&D" like umpteen times...lol Might go back there today and talk to their installer, see what he can do for me and the Tank! Wifey says we gotta have it to keep the lil spoiled princess occupied on trips...lol

Look at my Gallery in my signature if you haven't. Check out my DVD install. It'll soon be clear why you should take your time to do the install yourself with instructions here on CA but maybe with Circuit City's assistance if needed.

Circuit City helped me solder into the HUD following llajumpvid's instructions just because I suck at soldering. I showed them which wire goes where.

If I were to do it again, I would have them install the overhead monitor and possibly solder spliced RCA cables to the HUD only. I would not let anyone touch the Player install though because ours works much better.

Skip Circuit City if you can and find a local A/V installer. Much batter quality. At least at my A/V installer.

Hahaha!! Mine was the opposite. I say use whoever will let you hangout around the shop with them. There's always rules and policies against it but I learned not to let anyone touch my truck without me watching because stuff tends to get broken and pieces get lost.

True, you almost have to build that relationship in order to get the best quality work as if it was their vehicle.

I would agree witht that completely. I try to build a relationship with anyone doing work on my vehicle!

Well fellas, I got a couple of 6" screens installed on the headrests and a DVD player tucked in the center compartment for easy access and just plain hidden! They did a really good job and looks very clean. I might throw 2 more on the back 2 headrests just cuz I'm so impressed! Oh, I had them throw a 7" in-dash on the Bimmer as well. Guess I got screen happy today...lol

lol...Wasn't Circuit City bro. I took it to a shop that I've been going to the past 3 years now for various upgrades on my past/present vehicles. You know, we have that business/customer relation thing going already...lol...hence the price. I know my lil 2 year old is happy cuz now she gets to watch her Dora. Thanks for the compliment.

$550 sounds too good to be true. GREAT Job!!!!

Did they install an IR transmitter for the headphones seperately? Just an FYI, if that FM Modulator is less than satisfactory (like no avail stations while traveling), wiring into the HUD is much easier than I had originally thought it would be.

Yeah, they installed the IR transmitter in the rear, so 3rd row gets reception as well. As far as the FM tuner, in case of garbage reception, they installed a line that connects directly from the player to the aux plug. Yeah, as far as the price, Sean(owner) takes care of me. He knows I always come back. Probably spent over 10K there easily in the past 2 years.

You'll have to tell me more about the HUD wiring Pops...

You got it!!! You'll have to show Sean too, it'll give him a leg up on the Armadas and possibly Titans and something to look for in the Pathfinders. I'll post links to the threads tomorrow.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Maybe when I tell Sean about it, I'll have him install 2 more screens for the 3rd row.

Next upgrade will most likely be the brush guard...looks just like yours Pops. Looks sharp and will definitely protect the front end. How much did you get yours for?

Mine was the showroom model so I got it already on there and the DVD thrown into the deal too. Traded a '99 Chrysler minivan w/ 130k-ish miles for exactly $30k difference. The A/V shop messed up the DVD install so I tore it apart and re-installed it twice, the first time their way, and the second time my way. :D

I added the Headlight Guards to the Grille Guard later, they were easy. I've taken my grille apart to install the billet and the Grille Guard should be a pretty easy install.

DVD Player to HUD:

Here's llajumpvid's instructions that I used. It is much easier than it looks:
http://www.clubarmada.com/forums/showthread.php?t=196

You will need a Line Driver Pre-Amp something like the PIE LD-1.

To keep from cutting wires, I decided to use a Pin JUMPER from an old PC Motherboard, Video Card, or Sound Card to "Jumper" the "Audio On" and "FES Enable" pins inside the Harness instead of cutting and splicing the wires. From there, it's just splicing an RCA cable into the + & - of Right and Left.

Best Buy has "Recoton" "20ft RCA Speaker Wire Extension" cords that already have the - & + seperated into seperate wires that you can easily cut, strip, and splice.

For about $85.00, you can get the parts to install your player in the Center Console to look just like OEM:

I did redo mine later by drilling an extra hole in each bracket to lower the front of the player to make it more flush. This was all well worth it IMO.
