my 04 nissan maxima had the v6 3.6 vdq35 motor in it and it had a timing chain which never need anything for life so i belive mada does tooo .....

Correct me if i'm wrong but i thought all Nissan has chains.

^^^^^^^^^^^^The diagram I have above is the Armada engine! Note it says "Timing chain".^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I know the Armada has a chain. As far as all Nissans, my '00 Xterra has a belt. It had to be chained at 110k miles or you risk some very costly repairs if it breaks.

had a belt brealk on my 1991 vw passat 16V engine.... not a pretty site. no engine damage but all valves looked like "L"'s ... lol

our 1996 altima has a chain...

Looks to me that we have interference. See attachment from Service Manual.
