Does Anybody Have Probs..with Shift Fom "p' Into "r"???have 08 And When I Shift From "p On A Level Ground To "r I Hear A Pop Noise..called Dealer, I Have To Bring It In...but Would Like To See What All Of You Think....help Here....

Crazy question....Do you use your emergency brake?
The proper way to park the Armada is to:
1) Stop
2) Engage the E brake firmly, while keeping your foot on the brake pedal.
3) Then shift into Park

This will prevent the popping you hear.

Then to drive away from being parked:
1) Place your foot on the brake pedal
2) Disengage the E brake
3) Shift into Drive

Do That ...still Poping Or Shall I Say A Loud Thumping Noise..

We have always had a noise and it is not the noise you get from parking on a hill and not setting the e-brake. The noise we have is more of a "tink" and not really a thump. Never worried about it too much.

Then again, on our recent Colorado off road trip, the tranny did slip a couple of times in 4x4 low mode. Unrelated to the tink noise.

Hopefully someone will respond who knows more of the mechanicals of the tranny & drivetrain.

Just some thoughts but I was thinking about loose or cracked engine or tranny mount(s) or a loose U-Joint in the Drive Shaft then I ran across this:

Might want to make sure your Tranny Fluid is not low too. It shouldn't cause what you are experiencing but it's safer to go ahead and check it to prevent other potential problems.
