: Lowering Our Mada- Think I Figured It Out!!
stikystikyricky 09-08-2007, 03:51 AM So I went to car nutz today... A local high end shop. They work on all high end cars. Usually their lot is filled with the craziest Ferrari's Mercedes... everything and anything you can imagine. I told them I wanted to drop my truck and it would have to be custom. They pulled it in the bay and in a matter of 10 mins had both my rear springs out. lolll They said they really wouldn't recommend cutting the springs because it would mess up my ride. They then put in rear 07 Escalade lowering springs in and lowered it. They picture is how it looked. Sorry for the crappy picture, it was taken with my phone. They looked at my front and said it was the exact same set up as the Escalade as well and it should work. They said worse case if it doesnt work I could just return the springs and they would cut a coil. So I ordered a kit. The spring they put in there was for another customer but I will keep you guys posted. They said it should work and my ride will be 100 times better vs if i cut a coil. If these Escalade springs work that will be bad a$$!!

Qx56on24black 09-08-2007, 04:37 AM Freaking sick bro! If I wasn't selling my QX this would of been my next mod. Keep us posted
DBL047 09-08-2007, 11:52 AM That does look good... Do you think that there will be any problems with suspension or the ride since they are Escalade springs? Keep us posted on that. Are you located near Seattle? If so then I know the shop you are refering to and Jim at Carnutz is a great guy. Any ways let us know how it goes.
Desmo_Shift_Addict 09-08-2007, 12:33 PM great info ricky! let us know... it would be a great way to lower our Mada's if it doesn't mess up anything else!
eurohazard 09-08-2007, 01:02 PM That's cool!!!
I would never have thought that would work because the Cadillac has a solid rear axle, and the Armada has an independent rear suspension. I had assumed the back springs were leafs, but I was wrong! ;)
BlakSpyda 09-08-2007, 01:43 PM Great post. Not for all of us, but definitely good infor for those looking to drop it.

Chris03HD 09-08-2007, 07:30 PM looking fwd to the finished pics.
Same as the Escalade, huh??? Hmmmmm, wonder if that works for lifting too. Keep us posted. AWESOME Info!!!!
keala 09-09-2007, 03:13 AM all right finally! please let me know asap. and also, let us know what brand and make sure you find out about the rubber isolaters also. thanks man!

Yeah I live up north near Mill Creek area... we should meet up or something. Maybe there will be another meet comign up.
fftitan 09-09-2007, 08:28 AM I used the armada rear lift spacer on my wifes pathfinder, I wonder if you could put a stock pathfinder coil in the rear and that would lower your armada a few inches. Not sure of the load rating, but it's worth looking into.
lowincarmada 09-09-2007, 12:17 PM wow looks good bro hope everything works out for you.
ezemaxima 09-09-2007, 07:26 PM Are the overall diameter of the coils the same or real close. If its smaller then it might move around while driving causing rattling noise and might even pop out. Definitely let us know the results and driving impression. Also let us know if you'll have alignment problems just like the drop coils made specifically for the Armada/ QX56
keala 09-09-2007, 08:34 PM maybe you could just use the escalade springs in the rear and use the titan springs in the front. i figure that the mada would probably be just a little bit lower than the stated 2" drop for the titan because of the extra weight for the mada.
lowincarmada 09-09-2007, 10:27 PM I actually got some titan front springs will let you guys know if they work or not
Matrix 09-09-2007, 10:55 PM Yeah my concern is the bounce. I've had plenty of bouncyness in my years. I just want a nice soft cushiony ride. Plus I hate potholes. Yeah cool keep us updated. Thanks. I think the Titan ones should be sweet. How about the rear lowincarmada?
holy SHIET!!!! PLEASE KEEP US POSTED ON THIS... if all goes well let us knwo what brand lowering springs and how much eveyrthing came out to be... if all works out well... THIS WILL DEFINATELY BE NEXT!!!!!!!!!!
skipper06 09-10-2007, 01:57 PM man i want to know already, i can not wait anymore.
Desmo_Shift_Addict 09-10-2007, 02:01 PM Me too... but before I lower her... I'm still debating what shoes to put on her again...
I'm not liking what I see out there right now... maybe next years line will have more choices! What I can do is buy now and build later like I have done in the past with my other vehicles!
^^^ i know what you mean brotha... i will just build up from what i can get... hahahahaha... i will just lower first, lol, then get shoes... there are too many shoes out there... but most are ugly... hahah

Matrix 09-10-2007, 09:05 PM That must all cost a grip on your recipe list there skipper06. Maybe 3-5 grand or more. I still like lowincarmada's shoes and Daytons.

Chris03HD 09-11-2007, 08:11 PM yeah just about 5500 bucks.
Most of that i hope is going to your "upgrading the sound system," or you have been getting crazy high quotes on all those other parts listed.
Importz 09-11-2007, 09:36 PM subscribing
TW_Mada 09-12-2007, 01:55 AM Nice!! and are those 24" on your ride in the pic??
skipper06 09-12-2007, 02:06 AM Most of that i hope is going to your "upgrading the sound system," or you have been getting crazy high quotes on all those other parts listed.
lets see:
wheels and tires 3100
avic-d3 730
grille 115
exhaust 350
intake 250
alarm 700
rear spoiler 250
just right here you have 5495 ;)
thats not including speakers and the boom
or tints or HIDs
which is all a total of 5500 so if you think you can get all that for that price let me know.
just the wheels alone go for about 4400, so have a nice catch.

WC4NC 09-12-2007, 04:22 PM I don't think my wife would go for lowering, but it's a nice idea, just gotta avoid all the bumps on the road.

I would love to see a Mada on 24" Daytons!
DBL047 09-13-2007, 03:13 PM Daytons + Armada=
I dont know about that combo...IMO
But maybe if the daytons were like 24" rims it might look OK.
Matrix 09-14-2007, 01:29 AM Oh you know they'd look super fresh. Iv'e seen them on Escalades and they are nice. Bling! 24"! Blam! Kapow!
Desmo_Shift_Addict 09-14-2007, 02:01 AM i went on dayton wire wheels and they do carry 24" braids.... just would like to see our SUV's with them...

Awwww :crikey: ... that sucks... well let us know...
stikystikyricky 09-21-2007, 08:47 PM Actually.. to be honest with you.. they havent even done it yet. The person I am going through works there and is a good friend of mine. He has just been super busy to work on my car. I will keep you guys posted and let you know when I get it too him. Sorry.. I never even saw this posting come back up.. lol
skipper06 09-22-2007, 01:37 AM thats cool well keep us posted. to see if i dont have to fabricate one for mine :D
slamdxterra 11-17-2007, 11:38 PM honestly i dont think the rear escalade springs will work. As stated before the rear suspension for the armada is independent and the escalade is a solid axle with a 4 link. The spring ratings are gonna be WAY different! Putting escalade springs in would make it sit really low but i promise you driving/riding it would be WAY to soft and bottom out! If you think about the amount of weight leverage on a axle is half the weight leverage in a A-Arm type suspension. I could go on and on explaining but i think it would be hard to understand. I know the guys at Car Nutz and the installer...a very good place!
