: 30Kmi service
DBL047 09-13-2007, 04:20 PM My 2005 Armada is now at about 32Kmi and its time for the service and the dealer wants $629 plus tax oh adn another $108 if I want the platinum plugs. IMO thats too much money. I wanted to know if anyone can give me list of what needs to be done so that I can do it on my own.
BlakSpyda 09-13-2007, 06:37 PM I payed about that much!

Peter Benger 09-19-2007, 01:01 AM Change plugs @ 32K?? Why??? Sounds like a stealer rip-off.
DBL047 09-19-2007, 05:27 AM Well I was thinking that I would change to the platinum plugs and do it myself. But I dont know if I can do the Tranny fluid or the transfer case... any idea on an easy way to do it?
Russian ARMADA 09-19-2007, 10:30 AM I don't use the dealer, I change oil every 3k brakes every 25k and flush my tranny at any shop at 30k. But I would go to a private shop if you cannot do it yourself because the Dealership is not that good at what they do in my opinion.
demobud 09-19-2007, 11:42 AM I payed about that for the dealer service; IMO its a waste of money. Any reputable shop can do it for half or less than what the dealer charges. I got a quote after the fact from a local shop; service w/ tranny $315. Shop around.
DBL047 09-19-2007, 07:47 PM Thanks guys, any suggestions on a Shop... I live in Everett, WA. 20 miles north of Seattle. So if you know of a good chain I will go get a quote. I can do the plugs and oil and the brakes, but will leave the Tranny to someon else.
BTW my Armanda has been shifting hard and was wondreing if anyone is experiencing that?
Russian ARMADA 09-19-2007, 07:56 PM Well the tranny is done through a machine so a place even like Grease Monkey should do it well. All they do is hook the hose up to the machine and it flushes the system.
30k with tranny flush, oil/diff change, air filter, inside filter, rotate tires, and etc is $380 at local Nissan Dealer. Includes free car rental.
The $600+ service has got to be more things done. But what else?

HEY... I have an 05 with 30,500 on it and I need a service too. The dealer down here in Burien told me 595, plus an oil change, plus front brakes and they racked up a bill of 1k. I want to take it somewhere else too. Keep me posted!!! If you can find a place to do your service that will cut you a deal for two armadas... count me in!!! Im just right here in Bellevue. Let me know!!!
DBL047 09-28-2007, 12:36 PM I bought some Spark plugs and Oil filter from NGK website and plan on doing that myself but the tranny fliud is the one I cant do. I can also do the brakes, but which kind is best?
For your tranny, most any Lube place can do it as long as they carry the "Nissan Matic J" fluid. I think there might be a synthetic version available but other than that, there are NO substitutes.
For the brakes, OEM are obviously pretty good and the ones that Burtman carries are a little better. I think that anything else might get a little pricey and this thread is a good heads up:

armadman 12-20-2007, 04:45 PM i havent reached the 30 k mark yet.
but on my maxima , i did all that myself,
Coolant flush, tranny flush, oil change, spark plugs, in cabin filter.
and it cost me a little over a 100 bucks.
learn it yourself and do it.. its not hard.
scotts08LE 12-20-2007, 05:44 PM 30K is over rated. change oil, rotate your tires, check your brakes
and you about done. My indy mechanic suggest not messing with
the tranny fluid if it runs fine. I will supply him with Nissan Parts though
if needed.
