So I went ahead and bought one of those "oddly missing" coin trays for the center council. .......and then the noises started. The tray does fit right in to the center compartment but its not a snug fit and slides back and forth when you hit the breaks and anything in the tray slides as well (especially extra change that doesn't fit in the slots). So I went to a local fabric store and bought black felt that had a sticker back and lined the tray. I used the same felt to trim out the seeding spaces in the council so the tray itself would no longer rattle. It actually works really well quiet as a mouse now.. Just took a little time to make sure it looked stock.

I also picked up some midnight grey non stick foam that I cut to fit for the cup holders. This has completely stopped the "rattle" sound of empty cups or cans in the holder. You have to make a small 1/8th in wide cut (shown in green because its nearly invisible in the photo) from the edge to about half way to center so the containers don't create suction and lift it out. I didn't use foam with a sticker back so it could be removed to clean out the holders.

I know these are really small updates but its made the ride a quiet one.

Black Felt is definitely on my list now. My tray fits snug but the loose coins get a little annoying and I hadn't thought of anything that was padded but still let them slide enough to get a grip on them and Felt is perfect for that.

I lined my Coin Tray with felt per this post and used that black perforated rubber shelf liner stuff to line the storage bins and now it's a nice quiet ride. My Wife got suspicious when it was so quiet and found the linings so she smiled and said "that's a smart idea" then asked me to line the rest of the storage bins in the back and the ones in her car too. :rolleyes: :D

After reading this post in October, I went out to the local Hobby Lobby and bought some adhesive backed foam. My wife busted me with the xacto blade, cutting board and a ruler and made fun of me for having an "art project." Gotta love getting chop-busted by the spouse! Anyway, her tuned changed after she saw and heard the end result.

Great little idea that nissan should have done from the beginning. Does the QX have the tray lined like that or the sides (inside) of the console bin? Thought I saw a pic of the QX with it.

Yea, the QX is all lined with Felt.
