I seached and didnt find it, might have missed it..

anyway i know on the titan boards they are claiming 470-485 hp and 530-550 crank numbers..

Just wondering if anyone has done this on a armada and how it worked out for you.

Im looking real hard into trading my G500.. I down to another armada with parts, headers, exhaust and blower, or a 2500 suburban with heads cam, headers and exhaust.. they make about the same power and that would still leave the blower for later on if i want it then.

Thanks
Shawn

425 whp 430 tq is a more realistic numbers. Also Vortech just release their S/C if you want options.

That would be sick bro!! I think you might be first on here to stick a blower on an armada..keep us posted

Haven't seen it done on an Armada yet. This is AWESOME!!!

On CT, some seem to feel that the Vortech should be safer for the engine than the Stillen and others feel that both are good. You might want to read up on their experiences before forking the cash on one to make sure you get what you want.

The main trick is to change out your Cats before installing the S/C. The Primaries are welded to the exhaust manifold and replaceable with headers like NISMO and the Secondaries are easily replaced with High-Perf Cats.

We're not saying it hasn't been done, we're just saying that we don't know anyone who's done it. Any Pics and feedback would be GREAT!!! It'd be really awesome to get someone who's done it to join and provide some feedback, especially since our preformance is different than the Titan due to different Rear-End Diffs.

i think mark from CT is selling his s/c for 5K.. If i had the cash i will be the 1st to install it from this club, but may be in the future when the price drop down to 3k.....lol

thanks guys im still up in the air..

The armada just left of on a flat bed... Puking it guts out all over the road, motor, hood etc.. No loose hoses or hoses with holes in it. Not what you want to see at 15K miles.

I like armadas but ive had good luck out of gm stuff before as well. the new 6.0 is now 385hp vs the new armadas 317...

I guess for today its keep the G wagon because it runs lol. I guess ill see what the dealer has to say once they get it in the shop.

There's a TSB out on one of the Transmission Coolant Lines to the lower part of the Radiator. Think that could be your failed line?

I think it's on NTB05-022a here: http://x.nissanhelp.com/forums/Knowledgebase.html?catid=201&sort=d&pp=15&page=3

Got it back today.

For some rason the gasket for the radiator cap ripped and feel out, or some one just didnt put back on after they replaced the pullys and belts a last month.

anyway long story short... back on the road with a new Rad cap AND gasket lol...

Let me this mess to clean up though.

I've been using the "Tire/Wheel Cleaner" mode at the local Car Wash to gently spray the engine bay then "Rinse" using low pressure not squeezing the handle on the nozzle. It's easy and been working good for me so far.

Yea I agree. But they are 70-80 miles away. Cant complain to much when the bring me and car and take that one back. Or in this case roll back it both ways.

I think im going to get some new Michlens and ride it another year. then move to a 09 model. I like the way the armadas and QX's are laid out and how they work. I just dont like THIS one ;) That and with only 15K miles its hard to take a $28K hit.

The gas guzzler engines found on the domestic full size SUV's are not worth the money...these are 20 years old push rod engines...even though they might look fast or powerfull on paper they do not compare with the Nissan 5.6L or the Tundra/Sequoia 5.7 Iforce engines.

The Armada will smoke all the Ford and GMC (Escalade 6.0L with 6 speed tranny excluded) and tow more weight and more efficiently than all of them.

I would never buy a GM truck until they really start investing in engineering and upgrade their ancient power trains...

I thing there is a good reason why there aren't too many Armada owners who installed the Stillen blower...we are happy with the performance we're getting from the stock engines...the blower will probably require a new exhaust and perhaps other mods to provide the proper performance...and at the end of the day, $6-7K later, how much faster will it be?

the stillen will see instant boost
you wont see boost with a vortech until 3k or so when it starts spinning

i have a vortech on my mustang and its nice at the track but there is no low end torque off the line

The newer motors are nice that gm has. the 6.2 in the denali, esculade and h2 are very nice and have a 6 speed trans.

the new vvit 6.0 in the 2500 series suv's is also nice. its 385hp and 365lbtq. Also the tow rating is now 9500lbs.. I wish they hadent dropped the 8100. that was a motor! 325hp and 455lbtq. that bumped the tow rating to 13,500 lbts..

I am not sure if you have test drove the GM products and if not please do. We were hell bent on not buying another Armada after the brake issues we had on our 05. We looked at the Denali and the escalade. Both boast more HP than the armada with the escalade being over 400HP. I was not impressed with either and the escalade certainly did not feel like it had almost 100 more HP than the Armada. Also the transmission was horrible. With the Armada it takes a pretty good hill for it to gear down under normal driving conditions. The escalade would shift up and down several times on a single hill. Hell it down shifted coming up my driveway which the Armada had never done.

The second row seating has no where near the leg room of the Armada and while the Armada does not have a ton of storage behind the third row it has 3 times as much as the escalade or denali. There was no center console in the second row of the escalade and a huge carpet seem out for everyone to see. The driver and passenger console felt like it was made in china. The third row seats have to be removed in order to utilize the cargo area and you are still left with the parts needed to mount the seats. The seats were heavy and I could have never expected the wife to remove them on her own.

We drove the escalade for the weekend and when I dropped it back off on Monday I explained to the sales manager that he could cut another 20K off the already 15K reduced price and we would not buy it. I told him we loved the AC seats and the retractable running boards but the rest of the vehicle was poorly designed.

We bought our 2008 Armada the next weekend.

I completely agree. I test drove EVERYTHING. As this buy would be my first SUV I wanted to be sure I knew what was out there... I actually was the "I'll only buy American" guy going into this purchase... (even though a ton of US car parts are made over seas) ....now I'm the "foot in my mouth guy" driving an 08 Armada. It really did set itself apart from everything else- I noticed all the same shortcomings in performance and interior function amongst the GM/Ford models.

To clean the engine compartment - For years I have been spraying the entire engine in all my cars with Simple Green and letting it soak for a few minutes. Start the engine and then wash off with a garden hose and it will leave it like showroom new!

I think before you go for the s\c you have to try what i have plus the coming uprev tune,,,, feel the power then decide if you want to go for the s\c!!!! look at my mods in my sig.

All that you said is very true. the armada does have more leg room but less storage room... its a toss up on what you want. I mean if one could go to the infinity brand and have a very nice interior.... For my self im looking for something with lower gearing and that tows better. only real option is the 2500 burban and older excursion... So i guess ill keep what i have for now. Its a 06 with 15K miles.

Qafer--i dont think that would make enoght power for me! I am gatherin all the parts so i can do it all at once. Stillen S/C, Stillen Long tube headers, Jim Wolf Tech Cams and have it tuned for that combo! i think it will make an insane amount of power and will be able to breate REAL good! Just not sure if I will take it to Uprev for the tune or what.

I see that you've replaced your exhaust but as I'm sure you already know, I want to mention again that you'll probably want to make sure to change out the stock Cats before running with the S/C.

I've been told face to face by senior knowledgeable CT members that a lot of those issues were due to improper install or running too low octane fuel but like you, I would agree that the Vortech would be my favored because it does seem to be the safer route right now.

I found that the Armada had more leg room and storage. There is nothing behind the 3rd row of the escalade. You cant even put a small cooler there. There was also little to no storage for maps, cd's or other misc. items. The escalade esv or suburban has more storage but not the standard escalade.

Yea i was talking about the long one.

I had a vortech on a cobra back in the day... 95-97... it was a 93 model. the kits are very well designed but i had to run a msd timing box and i was inot impressed with the dypharam (sp) system to make the fuel work correctely. Then again this was on a now 15 year old car. We didnt make that much hp but i had good tq. The car stock had 215 crank i think and 255 tq... final numbers with the blower, fuel system, heads and cam, exhaust was 457whp and 570wtq which in a fox body in the 90's did nothing but spinn tires for ever :)
