Needed Items:
Hair Dryer
Fishing Line around 20lb Test. (Some have used higher and lower)
Clean non textured cloth. (I used a new plain jane white cotton t-shirt)
Bottle of Goo-Gone (Home Depot for like $4 and nice Citrus smell)
Stool, Folding Camp Chair...Something to rest your arse on as you will be in the same position for a while.

#1: Clean area around badges to remove and dirt grit or anything that might cause swirl marks etc as you will be scrubbing this area to get the adhesive residue off.

#2: Pick a badge to work on. Turn the hair dryer on high and aim at the letter/number you are focusing on. Depending on your ambient temperature it can take anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute to reach a suitable temp that the adhesive will become "gooey" enough to slide the fishing line behind.

#3: Get a good grip on the fishing line and slide it underneath one of the edges of the letter you have just heated with the hair dryer. Pull the fishing line evenly or it may require some back and forth motion to go completely across the letter/number. Once it has gone all the way then you can remove the letter with a finger. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 11 more times for the remaining badges.

#4: Now that the badges are off you have the sticky black adhesive (Goo) left on the vehicle. Personally I used my finger nail to gently roll the goo into a ball and remove. I found that the cooler the adhesive the more it came off in uniform fashion versus leaving bits and areas of goo behind.

#5: After the majority of the goo has been removed then you can break out the Goo Gone and the soft cloth. Spray a good amount on the cloth and swipe over the goo. I focused on one at a time and tried not to rub in one direction the whole time to avoid potential swirl/scratch marks. This takes some time and it can be made easier by using the hair dryer technique to soften up the goo. Use different areas of the cloth as you notice the goo bits sticking to the cloth as you scrub. This avoids basically re-applying or smearing the goo back on the vehicle. If this does happen simply use a clean area of the cloth and some more Goo-Gone to remove.

I performed this on my new Galaxy Black 08 yesterday without incident, swirl marks, scrathes, or anything yesterday. I reccommend that you take your time as it helps to get a cleaner result. Feel free to send any questions. Thanks to CA and its members for the idea and know how.
:D

i finally took the SE off the back about 5 minutes ago. used the wifes pink hair dryer. took a minute to get them off.. i just got a pick tool that has a 90 degree curve at the tip and pulled back on the letter with steady pressure until they came off.. yeah about 1 minute for both letters... not to get the goo off.. no goo gone but i got the turtle wax bug remover stuff..

I am going to completely de-badge mine this Saturday including the V8 on the side doors. Great tips!

You can also spray them down with goo gone to soak for 15 minutes and then use a plastic putty knife to scrape the badges off. the plastic putty knife will also help with getting some of the black adhesive residue off as well. When finished, i went over the areas with some polishing compound and it looked like new.

***Just remember for whoever does this... Dont bother trying to take your Nissan Logo off because it has two holes behind it. You will need to take it to a body shop to get rid of those holes*** I hate to see you take it off and find out and not have it stick on anymore.. lol

Does the pathfinder logo have holes behind it? Mines an 04 and thus is vintage.

Do the "V8"'s on the doors also have a peg or are they just goo/glued on.
Thanks

Thought I would throw out a little personal knowledge. You can buy an adapter for your hand drill called an eraser wheel. You can get it at your local paint and body supply shop. Might cost you 15. I think thats what mine was. It works wonders in the adhesive tape the factories put on. There is one that harbor freight carries, haven't used it but looks like it will work too. here is the Part Number. 93048 this one comes with an cut off style tool just watch your RPM's. and dont stay in place too long.
