My name is Heather, I live in Oregon. I've always been a car or truck type of girl...until now haha. About 5 months ago I got an '04 Armada SE for the purpose of taking our dogs to shows (we breed, work, and show Rottweilers).

I've always been a gearhead and I know my way around the motor of an import better than most guys do lol (we have a Honda Del Sol race/show car) That, and diesels. We have a huge '04 Ford dually that is working on 12 sec 1/4s. BUT, I'd like to know as much as possible about my Armada :) The good, the bad, and the ugly, bring it on!

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone! I LOVE tips and suggestions as to what I can add to my vehicles (as long as they aren't TOO crazy!). So far, I've put a 4-piece billet grill on (love it), upgraded the alram to include remote start, and added a backup camera to go with the sensors.

Hahaha actually yes, but if you knew how old I am, you'd know she's wayyyyyy too young! I'm a little bit of an entrepreneur...by 19 I owned and ran my own business and owned my own home. I'll be 22 in a month =)

The fastest 1/4 that I've seen posted from one of these is a 14.47 from scr38. I know of an additional Performance Mod or two that when added with a good CAI and Exhaust with High Perf Cats might get it down to a 14.0 or possibly lower. There's only 3 members with one of those mods and I haven't had anyone post a 1/4 track time yet. That Ford Dually of yours must be a PowerStroke Diesel???

Anyway, you might want to get your Initial Timing advanced 2 degrees. I paid a Nissan Tech $50 to do mine under the table. It's not much but it's cheap and gives a little more jump off the line and allows a little less gas pedal to be used for normal acceleration.

It's been years since we showed the del sol. It got to the point that we kept sweeping and it got boring. I entered it awhile back in a chick show and it won that too. Now it's just my weekend toy =) I'm down a little south of Salem, OR, in Albany.

Lol no worries. People call the truck all sorts of things! It's a beast by many names. We figure we're pushing about 750-800 hp right now...it was supposed to dyno a few months back, but the engine swap didn't go as quickly as hoped, and we missed dyno days.

the 2 degree advance is a must, my son just had his done at Old Town
at the Titan/Armada get together and it made a big diff, very noticiable, and it was free!!!!!!!!,
my Armada is an 08 vvt and they are not able to do them yet.

Oh I'm definitely going to do the 2 degree advance. I have a shop up in Salem that I can get it done for free at =) I'd read online a bit about it, but hadn't spoken to anyone that has actually gotten it done, and I knew better than asking the dealership lol.

And yes, I'm an oddball...you'll see me head to toe covered in diesel and grease from our truck if I have any reason haha. I just love taking things apart, and SOMETIMES putting them back together lol.

Boardman...the pup in the picture's name is Kaos (legally, Faraoh Kaos Von Rivendell)...I posted more about our dogs and more pics under a different section =) He's what you call a "grumbler" and talks allll the time. In that pic he was grumbling at me as I kissed on him, but if I stopped, he'd nip and play with me haha.

And Gorec, Welcome to you to! I love this forum already as well! Yah the sol is definitely an eye catcher. Most of our vehicles are, we just like to be weird and different with things. I mean, who's ever seen an 8 inch lift on a dually? lol. Pretty rare, people aren't stupid enough to do it haha.

Welllll funny story...that's actually what I wanted, BUT we didn't need another truck. We already have that covered :D. I needed something that I can safely transport the dogs with to shows, and working trials. Hence, the SUV :)
