Consumer Reports says Toyota reliability slips

I heard the reason for the slip was that this past year Toyota concentrated more on company growth which took away from quality. I guess they are taking on the American market very aggresivley and want to put a lot of distance between themselves and the big three.

It was more than one year of issues that caused this. It slaps in the face of the reviews by Consumer Reports as they kept giving Toyota rave revues at the expense of other good vehicles (Nissan for instance!)

Hmmmm.....funny. Their reports were always biased.. In their ever expantion somone forgot to pay em off!!!!

yea, and ford improves. consumer reports is a bunch of crap. period. i would never consult their publication before buying ANY product, and when people tell me i should have read it first i want to punch them in the face. toyota is still one of, if not the, highest quality cars you can buy. i work on camrys nearly everyday that have 200k on em. and the thing is they still feel very well put together. i cant say the same for early-mid 90s nissans, hondas, etc.
