While we were having our brakes inspected/repaired I had our local dealership check into a vibration we've been hearing coming from the front end.

We've had the Armada for a few weeks and it's only done it 4 times. We have a 2006 LE 4x4 with 38,000 miles.

The times it has done it were after a fairly long ride, after shutting down and starting back up. The vibration is coming from somewhere in the front end and both while in park and when rolling. I haven't heard it at speeds above 20 mph or so.

I had them check the axle bolts that were part of a recall on some 2006 models. They checked with Nissan and our Armada is not one of 06's needing attention. Three technicians drove it yesterday, along with their service manger and none of them heard the noise.

With the radio off the vibration is fairly obvious but I haven't found a way to reproduce the sound. I can only imagine these problems have to be the most frustrating for a mechanic to diagnose.

I'm open to any ideas you all may have. What about the auto-levelling? Friends of ours have a Trailblazer SS that makes a similar sound when they start up. Do these Armada's have this?

The load-Leveling Suspension is an option w/ Tow Package. I think it may be standard on the LE but it's in the Rear only. If you have it, the compressor can be seen underneath on the driver's side behind the rear axle.

I haven't found any info in any threads, but I thought it sounded like the radiator fan too. I checked to be sure the bolts were tight and they were. What about the installation could be wrong?
