Any reason not use E85? I have heard of several GM problems with E85 and thier engine...in fact when I was shopping around looking at Tahoes and Yukons, two different dealers told me to stick with regular gas...that they have seen problems. I asked the Nissan dealer b4 buying but they gave the green flag....anyone have any engine issues associated with using E85?

Haven't heard of any personally. Obviously You don't want to use E85 in a non-flex fuel vehicle because it's corrosive. E85 will give you less power, and you will see a big drop in gas mileage. But you're helping alleviate the nation's dependancy on foreign oil. And it is better for the enviornment by cutting CO2 by 20%.

Do you want to know the TRUE reason auto manufacturers are pushing E85 down our throats? Check this out....because E85 is only 15% gasoline (and obviously 85% corn fuel), the government considers only the "gasoline" part of the equation. http://ecovelectric.blogspot.com/2007/04/ethanol-sham-alternative-fuel-vehicles.html

Thats not entirely correct. Nissan claims the horse-power/touque is identical when using E85 vs regular gasoline. It was explained to me that when compared to gasoline, E85 contains less energy per gallon. But less energy doesnt translate into less power. It just takes more of the E85 to generate the same power. Therefore you dont get as many miles per gallon with E85 because it takes more of it.

So basically you get the same power from the E85, it just takes more of it to accomplish it.

Does that make sense? I'm now a little confused myself.
