i like how road and track calls $70,000 a "very reasonable" price. i remember when $40,000 for a 300zx TT was outrageous, and now 70k is very reasonable. and get a load of the pedals, or rather the lack of a third pedal. i'm about fed up with this "manu-matic" crap. oh well, not that i have the 70k anyways.

I know how hard it is for my large paws to fit in the stuff I work on now. That engine bay looks like it might be a nightmare to work in. But it looks like it might be fun to play with.

Haha, that's why it's easy for me to work on things, I've got little hands. Im used to teeny tiny little spots. This is the mess under the hood of the del sol...

I used to work at a Honda dealer when those first came out. They were neat little cars. Hondas weren't to bad to work on. I would still like to take that GT-R out and see what it feels like. I couldn't see owning one. Not enough room to throw stuff in the back, nowhere for my fourwheeler, and the gunrack wouldn't look good in the back window,ha,ha.

Ditto on the not enough room, Cpaul. Fast, tiny cars are fun and all, just for weekend fun. I could never drive a little sports car all the time. I need my big SUV or truck =)

GT-R: I liked those headlights better on the 1999 Toyota Celica! :( This car seems to be the real deal as far as performance, but it doesn't look as cool as a Skyline R-34.

Del Sol: Awesome engine in the Honda. Nice mix of performance goods and looks. Ihad a 1996 Honda Civic that I had modified pretty good. It was all show and no go unfortunately. That was back in 1996-7 though when they were still trying to figure out the OBD-II bull poo.

Thanks. Danny did a really good job with it. The car is a beast though and has been through it's fair share of parts lol. It's definitely more on the show side of it all. The interior has all been completely re-done as well. I mean, don't get me wrong, the car is incredibly quick lol. I don't get intimidated by cars, and this one still scares the crap out of me sometimes. I forget it's as boosty as it is and will punch it, and end up almost side ways lol. Danny turns the boost wayyyy down for me when I drive it lol.

The car is sick but unfortunately I think it is being released at the wrong time for the wrong price. With the economy going down and gas prices going up I honestly don't know if the market is there. Although you are getting a borderline exotic performance wise car for under 100k. That is if you can find a dealership selling for a reasonable price. I was going to get the Black edition, but had to put the purchase on hold. It turned one of the fastest times around Nurburgring, but the new Porsche GT2 will be breaking that.

I've been following this car since the first time I drove a 2001 GT-R R-34 in Japan. And like u all Skyline freaks know that news about this car change often when it come to details.

Now this is one thing I've heard before but I thougth they (Nissan) was gonna keep it just as a Nissan Trademark, but as you can read in this article. Infiniti comes with its own version of the GT-R for 2010.

I would personaly think they should leave it as a Nissan alone vehicle but i know they are gonna milk the GT-R name as much as possible. slso with the rummored GT-R 4 door and SUV. Let's see what's next?!?!?!?!?!?!

I would have hoped that if they going to do this, they should at least do some more changes, to put them appart by more detials and not only a badge. Like another grill that doesnt look like a Mitsu Evo or Eclipse. Anyways I luv this cars no matter what. But I even luv the previous R-34's even more.

Despite how bad the economy is and how expensive gas is, there are still tons of people who are lighting cuban cigars with $100 bills. My buddy was a broaker and he said you would be shocked at how many millionaires there are in the US. Fluctuations in the economy do not impact everyone the same.

How I wish I was one of those people :(

Infiniti R50

Infiniti is planning a performance saloon based on the GT-R supercar from parent firm Nissan. And it looks set to be named the R50.

The model has been championed by enthusiasts at Infiniti’s new European division, who had hoped that the GT-R would wear the luxury badge.

A source told us, “Launching new cars these days is all about recouping investment costs. Nissan chief Carlos Ghosn wouldn’t have approved the GT-R if its hi-tech chassis and transmission were not going to be used in some way in other models – including products from Infiniti and [sister firm] Renault. It’s the only way of making it pay. So building a performance Infi-niti saloon is perfect business sense.”

Our spies have revealed that the newcomer will be underpinned by a stretched version of the GT-R platform. Engineers currently have a choice of two powerplants. Most obvious is the GT-R’s 473bhp twin-turbo 3.8-litre V6 – although they may be forced to use the 5.0-litre V8 unit recently unveiled in Infiniti’s all-new FX50 SUV. That’s because Nissan produces the GT-R’s engine by hand – output is only 50 a day, which would be nowhere near enough to supply Infiniti, too.

Plans for new models don’t stop there, however. Another source says Nissan hopes to build a US-market, GT-R-based SUV – a car even bigger and bolder than the 385bhp FX50. It will be aimed squarely at the Range Rover’s replacement, due in 2010.
