i have a customer with 2 avic z2's they bought. he has a titan and his wife has a armada both 2007 models. we have the scosche kits here and tried them there is no possible way they will fit they are nearly 1/2" or more to deep. i have installed a kenwood system in a 2007 before and it fit fine but i dont know how deep it was. normal double din is 6.5 deep which is what this pioneer is.

has anyone installed a avic in a 2007 without the wires almost getting cut off the back and the kit ready to bust out of the dash??

the guy said he wanted to try the metra kit which we dont stock he went and got one and still a no go it is def better but still at least 1/4" to deep or more

im wondering if there is a way to simply cut out that bar and make a new support for it.. maybe just a straight bracket? arghh this is killing me i dont want to tell him "we cant" put it in there but im concerned about safety if we cut out that bar..

any ideas or suggestions? thanks

man,, i am facing the same problem with my alpine w205. I am thinking of cutting the bar and rotating it,, if you can see it is half circle bar which means if we rotate the flat half toward the head unit then we will have enough space for the wires. it will need cutting the bar from both ends and re-welding it again. i will do it but not now. it is one of my future list of must do... good luck.

I have a 2007 Armada with the Avic D3. I finally got mine in. I used the original factory brackets and the schoche kit.

I cut the bracket frame of the schoche kit and used it as a trim piece on the outside of the dash kit. I had to drill some additional holes in the head unit to position the radio. I might have been able to use exisining holes, but I was orignally trying to get the radio in as deep as possible. In hindsight, the radio does not need to go in that deep if you use the trim piece on the outside of the dashkit like I did. I had to hot glue the tim peice to stay on. I also went through numbers nissan clips that hold the dash kit in place. I kept breaking them when taking the dash kit on and off. Anyway, I did get the radio to look prettty good without cutting that bar.
