Ok so I have just about tried everything and up to this point, I am getting terrible sound quality out of my NICE system. This disapoints me because this system has a 10 gb hard drive for storing MP3's aswell as the Navsir I have purchased for Sirius Satallite. Heres what I have tried so far. Keep in mind I have an 05 SE with the BOSE sound system. ( no stock dvd. )
1. The FM modulator is crap! I get very little music and alot of static. FM modulator is out!!
2. So I tried the AUX. jack that comes with the standard AUX. button on the HU. In order for me to do so I had to purchase a AUX cord from Radio Shack with an adapter piece because the clarion has a smaller audio out jack. This was bad because the adapter peice that plugs into the NICE didnt have the brass ring on the end so it wasnt getting a full conection. Which caused all the MP3's to have a ton of distortion. So I took that back.
3. I exchanged it for a RCA cable with an AUX. end. I hooked the RCA cords into the audio video cable which came with the NICE unit and pluged that into the audio out on the NICE. Everything was geting a good conection but this was actually worse than what i had used before. Again sound quality was horrible. Lots of static
Being that I cant handle listening to this thing with all this static from the FM modulator or these wires that I'm using its just acting as a NAV unit for me. I ordered the PAC-INS and it should be here within the next couple of days. I am hoping when i go through with this full installation the Pac-ins will help with the sound. I have not tried the Navsir on this unit yet but I am assuming it isnt going to make much of a diference being that I will still have to use the FM Modulator or the RCA cords. I appreciate any feedback you guys can give. I have been with Club Armada for a couple of months now and this is my first post. I have read all the clarion NICE threads and it seemed like a sure thing. But I have hit a bump in the road and need some help. Once i get this thing installed i will post some pics of my finished product. I have already installed a myron and davis flip down in the back as well as two Alpine 12's.
