I swear I read a thread around here about someone purchasing a QX56 center console lid for their Armada, but the search is not giving it up. Are you out there?

I'd like to replace my console lid for something padded and comfy, preferrably with a leather cover.

Well, I ordered the console lid anyway. Graphite leather to match my "steel" interior (hopefully) I'll post some pics when I get them changed out. Should be in by the end of the week. It will be nice, as the current hard plastic and tray thing is annoying and uncomfortable.

Funny thing is I just did this very same thing. Ordered the lid that is. Isn't here yet. I noticed that there was a difference between the lids for front console and the center console .. Any Ideas?? Only ordered one to see if I would like it.. then do the back..

While the Armadas armrests are probably the most comfortable I have ever experienced.. Sometimes I like to drop my arm off onto the console for awhile.

This is a great mod to spruce up the interior and make it more comfy at the same time.

I got mine from http://infiniti-parts.com/ Paid $73. I think poorboy got his for like $65..poorboy you out there? Give us the skinny on where/how much for your lid.

Yep, got mine same place, same price. That wasn't my thread before. I didn't know anyone else was considering it. If the new one works out, I'd let my stock one go if someone wants a replacement. Gots a whole 8000 miles on it :-)

adlmcloon how much did burtman industries charge you for your interior? I really like that look havnt seen any one who makes dash kits for Madas with a din type reciever. Youdidnt have to bring yours in anywhere to have it cut did you

heh, why are you saying sorry for. This isn't a rare mod. Everyone should get it. I do have to tell you guys though the armada has a torque screws, The one on the QX has phillips head screws. Also the lock for the QX one is missing so I just swapped my armada one over. Everything bolts up nicely. It's comfy.

On the QX it's either graphite or willow. There are not other interior colors like steel.

I've got the steel interior as well. Wifey is strongly suggesting I take the cover down to an upholstery shop and get it recovered to match the interior. Guys, you know how it is- wifey wants it, so it shall be done. :)

I'd start with a QX lid rather than getting the Armada lid covered in any event. They can use the QX leather for a template. Probably make for a much cleaner finished product.

I also have the backseat qx console too. It's exactly the same as the front one. All you have to swap over is the latch. I think my interior is complete now..heh

you know I like the looks of the QX cover, but I think I prefer the Armada lid and being able to throw the cell phone or sunglasses on it without it sliding off to neverland..(thats the space under the sub).

So how off was it with the graphite color? Because I know the steel isn't like a night and day difference in shade....but just wanted to hear your opinion on how off it was. Also how much is the upholstery shop charging you to re-cover it? Thanks!

I'll find out Monday how much it's going to be, and the color is off enough for my wife to complain, so it's off enough for me to get it recovered. It's kinda close to the armrests on the doors, but it's still about 4 shades darker. Some might not mind. It's a nice mod though- it's very comfortable for a big guy like me as I think the armrests on the seats are a tad too high.

I can't get In and Out here in Tucson. Really miss it too - looked like you had a double/double with grill onions - the best!
I did just hear though that we are getting an In and Out right by my house in NW Tucson later this summer. I'll probably look as big as a house if I can't stay away!!!

*cough*. bringing up this dusty old thread to ask about updates on this lid. i may be interested in getting the QX lid but is it direct bolt on? does it cover up the console like the OEM armada lid does? are their other colors other than the two mentioned in this thread?

i just recently replaced mine with the qx and i am glad i did. You are going to need to switch out the clip because they are different but otherwise covers the same area. there are only 2 colors that i have seen. took about 10 minutes all together and about 5 or 6 star screws.

when you say swsirch out the clip, is this something you need to purchase or will the "clip" off the armada rest work? ive got black paint on the outside and the interior is that beige or whatever you call it. cloth seats. the QX one is only leather right? i plan to apply leather to the interior so its no big deal. thank you.

i just switched out the clip from the original, they fit eachother. I'm not sure about your interior color. the armrest i got is an almost black color and the other one is a light brown so take your pick i guess lol. where are you getting your leather from? i plan on getting leather too.

the dealer wil give me the anme of the shop that will do it. and i will get that next week when i stop by there. ill locate a infiniti dealer and grab that arm rest.

ginune, would you kindly tell me any snags involved or a link on how its done? i know.. its a no brainer to you but i dont want to jack up this new car... still smells like the factory! :p

i saw this one earlier beforee i posted in this thread but that one shows the top is velcroed to the standard arm rest. thats why i asked if the arm rest covered the same area as the standard one. apologies for the idiot questions...

The Infiniti armrest is identical to the Nissan, except the Infiniti has leather while the Nissan dosen't plus Nissan has that rubber try on top. I just replaced the center cosole armrest on my Nissan with the Infiniti armrest. Very easy, unscrew and remove, then screw in new one. No mods no cutting nothing at all is need to be done.

96920-7S604 This is for the Graphite(Dark Gray) color, not sure what the part number is for the Willow(Tan) color. By the way the part number is for the '04 Infiniti Qx56, don't know if that makes a diff. but just so you know.

Cant tell ya how many times ive looked (and felt) that hard plastic under my arm and thought a nice leather one would be great.

Im gonna call them tomorrow, make sure it fits the 08 model.

just so im clear, this is just the top piece, not the entire cavity that houses the dvd correct? also, what place is selling this? i forgot about this thread but would like to see about getting an arm rest but i need the beige color...
