I have on 05 Armada also and was wondering if anybody could help me out with where to get the best price on the rears? They are air shocks and my local stealer quoted me 200 a piece today. There's gotta be a better way, thanks.

Well, I guess that no one has changed out their rear shocks yet. I finally got a price of 129 each from another dealer. I sure wish there was some aftermarket for this.

Aftermarkets would be nice. Why are you changing them out??

From my understanding, these aren't like regular shocks that have to be changed regularly. I've had them on a Lincoln Continental and never had to change them unless one of the bellows blew a leak. They didn't use any hydraulic fluid or gas, it was all just the air from the compressor. Are these different. I've known quite a few people with Expeditions that have the Air Ride Shocks and never changed them out. Are these that much different than Ford's???

Greg at PRG, was going to look into the Bilsteins that fit the Ford Expedition and see if he could make them work for the Armada. You might want to check with him and see if he has figured anything out.

Thats a good question if they are different or not. Maybe I do not need to change them, I just assumed that would wear out like the fronts. Does anyone know for sure?

I'm sure that someone will know. Between people like Scr38, Norcal05SE, CPaul, and a few others, someone will know for sure. Might be something worth asking a few Service Depts about too to see what the different Senior Techs have to say about them.

I changed the shoocks on my 04 LE last spring. They were pretty worn out with nothing more routine driving and about 25% of miles were towing 5500#. I put in Rancho RSX shocks. All I did for the rears was discnnect the air line and disconnect the height sensor, so the pump wouldn't run. I've been very satisfied with them. Would've preferred Bilstiens, but got sick of waiting for them.

pops is right, the rear air shocks shouldnt need to be replaced unless they are leaking. if they are still holding air, i'd run em!! we get tahoes in all the time with the electronic ride control rear. if $200 a piece seems high, be glad you dont have one of those: $360/each!!!

Thanks everyone, I will probably just leave them alone since they are not leaking. Has anyone put the rancho 9000 on the front and what setting did you like?

NewbieDrew has them.

The Bilstiens from PRG are a better deal because they come with new springs already assembled. It's a true remove the old , bolt the new in setup.
