Hi, does your Tacoma have the 265 hp motor?

If so, how does it compare to the Tundra V-8 in your opinion?

I love the TACO. It is my wife’s ride. It is lighter and I would love to race the Tundra. I had a 04 sport edition 4runner (that was traded in for the MADA). It had the V8 and all wheel drive. Her TACO would beat me off the line every time. Now that I have the MADA, she won’t even try.:damn:

How does the Titan do racing against the Tundra? I think I want a v-8 to help pull my sandrail around especially up the hills.

Go Titan all the way. I am a fan of Toyota, I think over all quality and durabilty can not be matched. But they are over priced and compared to Nissan, under powered. I do not know all the specs off hand but I do not belive the Tundar can compare to the Titan. The Tundra interier is also very dated. 06'- 07' Tundra will be new, bigger, and they are talking desil.

Toyota is a toy next to the Titan. 6500lbs tow, 282 HP, 325 tq for Toyota, 9400lbs, 315 HP, 375 Tq for Titan.
Rated the same for gas mileage.
Titan has smaller turning radius surprisingly.

According to Car and Driver, 0-60 for Titan is 7.6 seconds. For the Tundra is 9.2 seconds. No contest. The only truck the Tundra could take is the F150, and that would be close.

Edmunds says:
Toyota: Smooth and refined V8, Toyota build quality and reliability, nimble off-road, most carlike of the full-size trucks. Lacks serious brawn for towing and hauling, narrow cabin, chintzy interior materials.

Titan: One of the best drivetrains in its class, smooth-riding suspension, spacious and functional cabin, innovative design features, available stability control and side airbags. Limited drivetrain and body style choices, no heavy-duty models, burly exhaust note can get annoying on long drives.

Course Toyota has no heavy duty models and has the smallest and weakest motor of the class. Its really a 7/8ths size, not full size. Cabin is also the smallest.

I'd say test drive them and you make the call, but for me, with performance paramount, my list was: Titan, Ram 1500, F150 Silverado, Tundra.

I prefer the Titan but the Tundra has ZERO rattles, and drives better.
Now if we can put the build quality of Toyota into our Nissan's, that would be perfect.
