Hi Everyone,

Has anyone experienced what feels and sounds like a rubbing sound, when you counter steer a fish tail?? With all the snow up here I decided to have a little fun and put my Armada into a fish tail, when the back tire broke loose and I counter steered, I heard a horrible rubbing sound. Like something was dragging or the tire was rubbing. I have the stock 18" on my 2004 LE, I'm just wondering if the tires will over rotate on the Armada and rub against the inner wheel well.

I think what you heard was the VDC/BLSD in operation. These systems control traction/skids. When it operates you hear a loud sound. It is normal, nothing to worry about.

What you heard is probably anti-lock grabbing on one of the wheels to straighten you out. If you want to play, you have to turn the VDC off, and move the 4wd switch to 2wd.

This vehicle continues to impress me with its technology, and I am very glad my wife is in this during snow/ice days.

Ahhhhhh, I was wondering when I would use that VDC off button. I figure I have this big toy I better play with it. :) Thanks guys, I'll give it a try tonight with VDC turned off. :)

Keep in mind that VDC is your Stabilization System that keeps you safe. Turn it off and you need to be much more careful. These things dent pretty easily if you bump into anything.

The nice thing is that it resets when you turn off the ignition. So next time you start her up, VDC is back on. Then you have to hit the button to play some more.

My wife looked at me cross-eyed when I explained to her what was going on, so I hit the gas in the snow with VDC turned on (no fun for me), then with VDC turned off (fun for me, no fun for her). Wives have no sense of humor sometimes.

Oh well, what are you gonna do?

Noooo...we have a very good sense of humor, but only when it comes to things that cannot possibly effect our bank accounts! :D:p We just have a hard time getting past the "what ifs" haha!
