New Oil pump design in 07's????

Hey guys,
I had an 06 Titan LE crew and changed over to an 07 Armada LE. With the 06, the oil pressure gauge would always rocket up to high when under hard acceleration or when the motor was cold. On this 07 Armada, the oil pressure comes up to half and stays there when it is cold, under acceleration, etc. Has Nissan changed the oil system design in these trucks between 06 and 07?? This seemed very odd to me.

They changed only the sending unit. The rest of the lubrication system is the same.
Nissan made the change because many people are used to a light, not a true pressure gauge. These people were alarmed when they saw the gauge moving a lot (which is normal). So Nissan added an orfice in the sending unit to dampen the pressure changes, and make the gauge respond much more slowly to pressure changes.
I like the old system better!
