when i went to change the oil, and i noticed the tranny cooler line(tube to cooler) was leaking. not sure how long its been leaking, but at the last oil change, it wasn't visible therefore the last 3000 miles is the closest guess. i wanted to check the level of the tranny fluid but i can't seem to find the dipstick. i've read past threads about it being bolted down and have a copy of the maintenance manual, but where exactly is this dipstick?

**EDIT**

after finding the info on clubtitan, i couldn't believe where the AT dipstick was located. i would've never thought of it after seeing the pic. here's a link just in case anyone else might need the info as well..

That'd be the location, but on Heather's Armada she has an actual yellow handle dip-stick bolted down. Sticks out like a sore thumb.

I was thinking about changing mine to that one when I first got it but then I was at WalMart pulling oil from the shelf to have them use for my oil change and walked out to find the guys yanking on it trying to get the plug off. I asked them what they are doing and they said they were going to check my Tranny Fluid Level. I asked what they were planning on filling it with and they said they use Dextron II "because that's what everything uses". I laughed and told them "that's exactly why that plug is locked on there is to keep ignorant Service People from use Dextron instead of Nissan Matic J and you guys need to leave ALL Nissan trannys alone. They are VERY particular and it takes a Nissan Mechanic to even change the fluid." I got the dumbfounded "oh"s and apologies and I told them "that's ok, I'll just start stating 'oil only' when I come in" so I now deny them to do everything except the oil and filter change and battery check. They're a good group of guys and I have fun with them. Good Stuff. :D
