4WD light on dash

What's this mean?

I just test drove a 2010 Armada and this was lit up on the dash. The car was in 2WD, and putting in the various 4WD modes did nothing to the light on the dash.

The seller said it might be there because the battery died. Any truth to that?

I seem to recall someone else recently had the same thing and it did turn out to be true. All I can say is be sure to make sure before buying it because that light can be alot of other things.

I talked to Nissan today, trying to chase down warranty and service work that was done, and they said they'd give me a complimentary pre-sale inspection.

Do you know if that is worth it? Free and dealer in the same sentence just don't seem right to me.


On the other hand, there was maintenance records up until 30k miles, and a bunch of warranty work that has been done. Dealer said the truck had been maintained very well and not missed a service since bought new at their location.

The truck now has just under 35k on it, so...... looks like it's been well taken care of as far as service and warranty work.

I'm looking at possibly picking it up for 27k. It's a 2010 Platinum!

Are you asking where the truck in question is? I am in Portland, yes. I know of the dealers' you mention but not sure what you're asking.

Hi, how was it fixed? The same thing just happened with my 2003 Armada? 4wd light is on but it is disengaged. Thanks.
