Came back from another tire shop. Still confused?!? Should the gross weight of the trailer be factored in on the tire Max Load single which 2469. Times 4 is 9876. Which sounds more than fine for the Armada, passengers, gear and tongue weight (about 500 lbs). The tire people are saying the trailer gross weight should added too, although not confident. Which would put me just around 10,000 total maybe more. But the trailer isn't sitting on the tires, right? What am I missing?

You only need to add the tongue weight of the trailer to your total weight, not the entire weight of the trailer.

What is the max load on your existing tires?

Not sure as I recently bought from a private party, and have yet to tow anything. I don't even have the trailer yet (it's my buddy's and I want to buy it). The current tires are nearly bald. Nexem Roadians are what's on there now.

If trailer weight is not added only tongue weight then there should be no issue.

One factor that has not been discused is the load rating of the wheel, not just the tire. The tire may be able to handle the weight but can the wheel? If it is not to late (I know I'm a little late replying to this) check out the load rating of the 24" you are considering.
