Heater Blowing Cold Air

While I was visiting North Florida last week, the heater on my 2008 Armada started blowing cold air. The controls work fine, the AC works fine, but the heater will not get warm. I looked in other forums, and it looked like the problem is more than likely the heater (water) control valve (HCV). I took it to a mechanic, he turned the heater on high, put a meter on the electrical leads that go into the HCV, and advised it was not getting power. He then looked at a schematic and told me the power comes from the climate control unit and it (the CCU) should be replaced. The CCU is very expensive and it seems like I would be having a lot of problems if that was the case. Has anyone had a similar issue or can you advise if this is a good way to test the HCV. Thanks.

Hi, just had a similar problem. Turns out there is a campaign on a hose part number 92400ZW10A. So it's a known issue to Nissan...
The hose was $160 plus labor. Might be cheaper than the ccu or hcv? Hopefully this will help you out?

Thanks Moto Jo!

Thanks... I took the cover off the HCV. While a friend adjusted the temperature control, I could see the gear rotate counter clockwise when the CCU was set at warmer temperatures and rotate clockwise as the temperature was lowered. The HCV seems to be working properly (unless the internal valve is stuck). I'm going to investigate the hose option this weekend. More to follow and thanks again.

I just searched the part number online. It is called a Hose Assembly Inlet. It includes the HCV, the hose that feeds the HCV, and the hose to the heater core. A photo of the part is at the link below.
