What is the Best Transmission Fluid for 08 Armada

I know this could be opening up a can of worms here. But I would love to get as much input as possible from members that have tried aftermarket fluids and what their results were.

I have an 08 with 72k miles that I just purchased. I just did the first drain and fill and it appears to be the first time anyone has changed the fluid. This is just my assumption based on the following info : no info in carfax and there was still paint on the drain plug. This vehicle has towed trailers in the past - it has the trailer brake already wired up.

So - I the Nissan S fluid going to be the best overall product for daily driving and towing 7000 lb trailer in the summer every couple of weeks on short trips the answer ?

Please chime in and share results.

Thanks
Tom

I, and others, have used Amsoil with good results.

The Nissan trans fluid and the Amsoil are both synthetic oil. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

I stuck with the Nissan OEM stuff, Matic S, formerly Matic J.

Same here. I been using it since the 70k mark; I've got close to 130k now and haven't had any issues.

The tranny's can be very finicky. All the ATF's listed are top fluids. I went with MaxLife as it is synthetic and covers Matic S and Matic J. Excellent so far and it's been 20k. The data sheet on the MaxLife ATF is good to go.
