I originally wanted to do an exhaust upgrade late last year, but travel and time were not on my side. I saw some great reviews on this forum on Cajun, so I took the plunge.
I just returned from a business trip to find boxes of fun at my house.
Stage 2 is a complete motor to tip exhaust package. I just received the JBA 6400s longtubes, catted Cajun bpipes, and JBA full 40-1405. I added the UltraQuiet resonator so I don't wake the neighbors when my beast roars at 5:30am when I head for the gym.
Last week I got the Uprev tuning started with Joe, but it might be another week or so because they are having to do a patch for my '13.
Through the past week I have removed other customizations. Bully Dog Triple Dog GT, custom headlights, and custom grill have been removed. Taking it back to a stock look for a while and removed the Bully Dog since UpRev was coming.
Update on the mod:
Everything installed last Saturday 4/11 - Cajun B-Pipes, JBA headers and exhaust
Uprev created a patch for newer Armadas so I got tune started with some datalogs
Email the logs and get back updated tweaks to install a few different times this week
Got final update and flashed ECU this afternoon
Jeff at Cajun BPipes provided a great product and customer service. He personally called and answered my many questions prior to me even buying anything.
Joe at CajunTuning provided quick responses and updates for Uprev. My Armada is running great and sounding AWESOME!
Wish i can hear her roar......you mind telling us an estimate of the cost? Was thinking of the same with my beast.
Believe...[/QUOTE
Cajun B-Pipes has a pretty good website where you can order "ala carte" and get things separate or a pre-determined package.
I did the Stage 2, which is the engine to exhaust tip replacement with the UpRev. I also ordered add-ons with the ceramic coated pipes and a UltraQuiet Resonator (which I have yet to install- not sure I want to quiet the roar yet).
Reach out to them and tell them what you have, what you want, and they will hook it up.
Jeff called me and answered a few questions before I ordered anything. I'm not an easy customer to please and they were great.
"Normal" driving it is just barely louder than stock because of the resonator. It is noticibly more aggressive sounding, but not a lot louder. It's a different note coming from the pipe. The week I drove without the resonator it was LOUD inside and out. Now it only roars when I tell it to do so.
The difference in volume is in the start-up and during aggressive acceleration. That is when this thing literally roars into action. It's not that loud ******* truck blub-bulb, but more of a deep bellow.
So your entire package came in three boxes? how big are those boxes? I'm thinking on getting the same set up as yours for the "Two in the Driveway". I'll need to contact Cajun B-pipes for shipping costs to me. I will say it now... "OUCH!!!" on the shipping cost :crying:
Very NICE set up!!! I'm looking to get the same done on one of mine. I hope nightowl get back with me on my question. How does this setup affect emissions? and the Check engine Light?
Emissions and CEL are non-issue for me with the UpRev
Hafa Adai!
Shipping to GU will be steep. It was three pretty decent size boxes. I was in Guam years back and can remember is was not cheap to have things shipped.
Thanks for answering my question about the emissions and CEL. I will go with the same setup as you it both are non-issues. Yeah tell me about it... I'm always paying double the price of parts just to get them shipped here. Especially something as bulky and heavy as your package exhaust.
Update: Nightowl just PM me and he said he can work out a shipping cost that is reasonable. Man if he can do that I will take out a loan and get two packages for the Two in the Driveway. At least I'll be ready for that dreaded cracked exhaust manifold issue.
The beast has been laid to rest. I traded it in yesterday. There were issues that were going unexplained and I didn't have the time (or patience) to work out with the setup. It was throwing CEL every couple days and burning through O2 sensors. I was the anomaly as MANY have had great luck with this exact setup.
I removed Injen CAI and placed factory air filter back on the truck.
I uninstalled UpRev and unmarried it from the vehicle.
I took a little $$ hit on trade due to the mods (missing a couple cats and without UpRev the truck had multiple codes), but it was time to call time of death on this experiment.
