I went from 2004 Armada to 2017. There's no more arm rest on the right side. Anyone else bothered by this? Now i drive around with a pillow on the center console to support my arm.
Its based off the patrol which is what the Qx is as you are well aware.
I used to have a 2006 and then a 2008 armada then went to the new qx.
I dont miss the arm rest as i use the center console top. I prefer the console top.
The arm rest was super prone to breaking because cats would jump in the car and prop themselves up whilst pressong down on the arm rest --lots of times breaking it as you may know (not saying you broke yours).
That was a poorly designed part on the car in my opinion (yours will vary of course) and was not classy.
The armada is catering to a broader crowd who wants a functioning SPORT TRUCK but also wants to go out to a fine dining restaurant in it as well, so i can see why nissan left it off...
But I digress, i dont miss it at all. im sure you will forget about it soon once you get used to all the new luxury and bells that the new armada have...
Earlier Armadas had a fold down arm rest. new one doesn't. I prefer my 2004 over 2017 seating position. The 2017 center console is too low for me to use as an armrest. I have to put a pillow on it to rest my arm. It's also is too far back.
I get it's a preference and I personally don't like it.
Matter of fact, I'm about to look for someone to make me a customer leather spacer about 1-2 inches thick to attach to the top.
I like the center console arm rest versus the fold down arm ones as I lean over to the right when I drive. BUT I hate the fact the center console top on my 2017 slides so easy front to back. It moves when you get out or push off it any little bit. They need to a have lock feature for that.
I have a 2017 Platinum and it certainly slides front to back. Flips up too. The sliding allows it to work with any drivers seat position I guess. Dunno. But it certainly is adjustable.
We just took delivery of our 2017 sl. No venting rear windows and no opening tailgate glass. I havent driven it enough to see if I really miss the armrest but I always used it in the old truck. Plus the rear door handles are higher up in the 17 than the 04 so we have to use the child safetly locks because they can reach the handles while in their car seats. adjustable pedals will be missed too.
I also had an 04 and still not sure my 2017 is better. I miss very much the rear opening tailgate glass, and yes, even the adjustable pedal height my 04 had.
I also miss the way the 04 drives. My 2017 even after the TSB still feels like it's never sure what gear it should be in.
This being said, I do like the refinement and interior better now.
