Just put a deal together for a 2015 SL, white with charcoal leather interior, moonroof package and DVD headrests. These are hard to find...especially that color combo! It seems like the platinums are abundant by us in Jerz though...After a couple days searching the surrounding area (5oo+ miles) the dealer asked if we would mind waiting a bit longer for a new one out of the plant in TN. Seemed like a no brainer to me. Looks like it will only be another week and it will have no miles on it. The only thing i was concerned about, but got past eventually, was the redesign that seems very close.
I guess this seems like a 2016 - 2017 event? And i assume it will likely look like the Q80/Patrol mash up maybe, or the new Titan? Who knows, but quite frankly i'm not a big fan of either and we weren't inclined to wait...i think the armada holds up really well even still. I was also worried that if we did wait, a similarly configured model would be at a much different price point with the new design...Comparable Tahoes, Yukons, and Suburbans are $10k-$20k more right now.
Any thoughts?? We're very happy with the purchase and can't wait for delivery.
Looking forward to seeing pics. Can't you ask to go the plant and basically see it being built? I don't know if that is possible though. I am just wondering.
They didn't...No one seems to know and I've asked a few dealerships as we were looking. I would bet it follows the Titan though, so next year maybe? Last time i was shopping for a car (2 yrs. ago) and the Maxima was on the list, they did tell me about that upcoming re-design. So i think they actually don't know about the Armada and aren't just keeping it hush.
I just pulled the trigger on a 15. Nissan hasn't released details on the new body - the dealers know nothing. Loved my 08, so figured I'd love the 15 too. If they change the body for 17, so be it. If it's anything like what they did with the Infiniti, I'd likely have passed anyway... Be happy with what you've got. If something crazy better comes out in a couple of years, you'll still have good value in the 15 and can trade it if you're really in love with the new one - at least that's how I convinced myself
Congrats  i have an 11 thought about moving up to the 15 but I opted to wait on the 16/17 but if the shape is the same as the pathfinder and Q80 I will pass on that move. Anyhoo enjoy the beast.
So we're still waiting! The delivery date was pushed to May 15th - June 15th so we're in the window now, still waiting...talked to the dealer yesterday who has been very good and the car has not been assigned a VIN# yet so we'll be waiting until the end of the window in my view. Apparently a 2015 SL, white with charcoal leather interior, moonroof package and DVD headrests is hard to nail down!
I like the body style even if it's getting on in the years, and i agree that it will likely look like the patrol which i don't love either. I've also had issues in the past with first year models and the quirks that go along with them. So i'm happy with our decision and waiting patiently. I'll keep you guys updated with pics too when we get it.
Yeah, we bought a brand new 2015 as well. I know a total refresh is soon, but the Mada looks AWESOME in current form. It's only missing a few features, adaptive cc, collision warning, and blind spot monitoring. I only wish it had HIDs/LEDs, but even $65K Tahoe LTs and Expedition King Ranch doesn't have that for $15K more.
:thumbup:yeap the current body style is impressive, but its due for some refinements it's been a long time, just hope it don't look like the Q80 body.enjoy your rig.
I figure it will be at least 2017 before a body style change, I have a test drive setup for the New Titan trucks on the way already. I have only been around Nissan for the past few years so to me its all new. I do know I like the 5.6L engine, For what these new platinums cost it should have the 360 sonar, remote start, moonroof trim, 3rd row dvd for sure. This is still a tough well built suv with lots of guts..
So the wait was well worth it (2 1/2 months!). I picked her up tonight and couldn't be happier with the way it drives. as a reminder, its a '15 SL with moonroof and DVD packages and 14 miles at pickup (it was dropped off some miles down the road and then gassed up a few miles away). Someone mentioned in another thread the moonroof was lacking the trim inside to cover the guts and as i drove the '14 pathfinder to nissan to trade it in, i noticed the same thing (can't tell you how happy i am we got out of that truck)... i also have a '13 accord that lacks the trim. really not a big deal in my opinion. i only noticed because of the post. Anyway, we have two small issues. The #1 button on the stereo doesn't work. at first i thought there might be a different way to save a channel but all the others work by holding it down for a second or two. this is a very small thing that i'm sure can be fixed pretty easily, so no big deal. But i also noticed a rattle in the front driver side wheel well. It's not constant but on bigger bumps i can hear it. Sounds like something is just loose. so i'll be bringing it back to check these two things but otherwise, we're pretty stoked. I'll post pics tomorrow. Even though the deal has been hashed out for awhile, delivery was still a 3 hr process, unreal.
Edit: of course i noticed these 2 issues when i got home, 40 minutes away from the dealer...funny but they told me last week it was done but going through "quality control".
Congrats! We have an almost twin of yours, 2015 SV, Pearl White, DVD package, 4x4 (driver package + tow package), and charcoal cloth. Love this color and interior. We bought our 2015 barely even used at 6,000 miles that was traded in from a rental company.
Yes those are the standard SL rims. Just replied to your PM by the way.
I'm so glad to have a normal transmission again too. I really didn't like the CVT in the pathfinder. and we were having the juddering and loss of power issues that so many have been complaining about on those trucks.
Congrats, nice looking color combo, we had the same in the Grey metallic 2010 Titanium we had, I liked the black interior but it was hotter than what we have now. The new tan, cream color is a job to keep clean.
We're very happy with the purchase. I just wanted to add some some 1st week ownership impressions:
- we love the way this truck drives. It cruises on the highway so smoothly. And i love the sound of the engine. It's obvious this thing is very capable. pickup is fantastic too...
- parking is not as difficult as i thought it would be. It's really just as easy as the pathfinder. i don't know the exact turning radius but i've had no problem getting into relatively tight spots or maneuvering around tight corners is small parking lots.
- all three kids are still in car seats (ages 6, 4, and 1) and they fit very comfortably across the second row. A seat belt extender will help with reaching for the middle buckle for my oldest, but in the pathfinder, this was a chore every time...if we had them across the second row, which we eventually stopped doing. And with the kids in the second row, we can fully utilize the rear cargo area. In the pathfinder, we gave up on the second row and had to sit one of the kids in the third so we had very little room in the back for "stuff".
- A couple minor disappointment thus far: "comfort" settings. I liked being able to change the auto door locks in the pathfinder so they would unlock when i put the car in park. i just got used to it. not a huge deal but for a $50k truck, that should be standard. And the auto third row feature should be one-touch, you have to hold the button on this one. Also, an "auto" feature for the rear climate control should be standard.
But like i said we're very happy and the stuff i mention last is pretty minor. That's all for now.
I've got all 3 kids (10, 7, 5) across our second row as well. We've had the QX since 08 so it's "grown" up with us from 2 to 3 kids and through infant seats, front facing, and now boosters. It's quite versatile with the seat belt extenders.
I'm with you about the door locks. They way the armada "auto" lock works is completely stupid. Unlock on shifting to park should be the default, but it appears to not be possible. Absolutely love my truck but this annoys me every time I have a passenger with me.
