Loss of Torque with 2 degree advance

The other day my wife was driving up hill with a full load of passsengers (two adults and six 7-9 year olds) she mentioned that the Mada was struggling to go up hill which I think is at a 3-4% grade for like a 3 mile stretch. She down shifted to 4th with little to no help. Wether she did that halfway up the hill I dont know. I've heard that with the timing advance you loose torque but could that be the culprit? I never had problems just down shifting to 4 with about 5 adults, then again I shift just as Im about to go up hill.

The advance will not cause a loss of torque.

I agree with Dusty, this 5.6L and 5 speeds knows how to get things done. Sounds like you might have another issue. Sounds like Sce38 has tested the 2 degree advance on a Dyno.
