long cranking time before starting-08 Armada

Our '08 Armada SE has to be cranked unusually long before it starts at times.

We purchased it a month ago from a Nissan dealer and it has 70k miles.

Do not know if the spark plugs have ever been replaced.

1. Is it normal for this engine to require 3-4 seconds of cranking when starting cold? (seems to fire up within a second or so when the engine is hot)

2. Our Armada has the remote start (factory I think?) but the engine doesn't start before the remote start program stops cranking it. Could the long cranking time before firing issue be related to the remote start?

3. When should spark plugs be replaced on these?

4. Any other ideas/areas to look at??

Thanks all!

Sounds like a problem with the remote start.
Plugs don't need to be replaced until 100K.

Maybe you should also get the battery checked as well just in case or check the positive connection is secure.

Overdue update on this:

Turned out to be the fuel pump. Had the dealer check and they found that the system was losing fuel pressure when the engine was turned off. The solenoid on the fuel pump that closes the return valve was not functioning.

Ordered a new fuel pump from RockAuto.com and installed myself.

Starts and runs perfect now.
