Hey guys/gals, just bought a clean '05 Armada SE, black on gunmetal wheels. First question I have, is if the Armada ever came with gunmetal wheels? These are definitely Nissan OEM by design, but I'm trying to figure out if they've been re-finished.
Anyhow, a little bit about myself. We've been looking at Armadas and Pathfinders for around a year and a half, just trying to find the right time. I haven't had a car payment in over two years, so you can understand why I was at first so reluctant to pick up another vehicle.
Well the wife has been driving an 02 Kia Optima, and it was starting to nickle and dime us, so what better time than now to get rid of it! I own another Nissan, and I have to admit that it turned me into a bit more of a Nissan enthusiast than before. Hence looking at Pathy's and Armadas.
The SUV's secondary purpose, is to be a tow truck. I needed something with more than enough towing capacity and could still sit 7 or so people, when I take the racecar to the track. (Pics below)
The SUV doesn't have 4x4, which I don't honestly think I'll need, and is missing some other options that I will be adding aftermarket. I need to find a DVD "entertainment package", and I'd like to find a navi system, as we're relocating this year to the east coast.
Anyhow, looking to learn a bit more about the beast

The 05 SE did come with gunmetal wheels it was the only year that they did come on. They did this because of the break dust problems on the the 04's before the brake fix. Because my wheels on my '04 looked like the '05 wheels after a two or three days of driving.

LOL okay cool. I like em though! . I'm actually in west texas, but my career currently has me working in jersey. I'm hoping to relocate to Maryland by mid year. I checked out some sponsors, will be looking into a rear screen. Just bought an eclipse avn52d today at a killed price
'04's & '05's had them, I'm not sure about '06-'07. I have a friend at work who has an bone stock '04 SE with the 5-spoke gunmetal wheels.
For the DVD..... If you want one with a GPS, the AVIC is a favorite on here and I'm pretty sure you can wire in a rear Monitor to it. If you want just a DVD and to use a portable GPS, the Myron & Davis AD212 is a good player. For the rear monitor, take your time looking. The only one that fits and looks OEM is the Myron & Davis.
I've been looking around a lot. I'm an Eclipse headunit fan, and ended up going with an Eclipse AVN52D, as I got it at a steal of a price. It's already installed, as is the alarm system. Just had an SRT1600 put in, as I was told that the Armada is on the top 10 list of most stolen vehicles in the region
Next, I've decided not to stick with the factory-like overhead screen. It seems too small, and the angles wouldn't be ride for the kids in their car seats/booster seats. I think I'm going to opt for built in headrest screens. I also plan on buying the Sirius backseat TV/Satellite radio system when I get back home from my business trip.
I need to find out how to get the rear audio controls to work with the deck though, as well as the steering wheel audio controls. Thinking I need to buy adapters for the headunit, but I haven't looked much.
After that's all out of the way, I need to buy intake, exhaust, and a programmer, at a minimum! I have a friend that did my realtime ECU for my SE-R, and I'm going to approach him to see if he want's to do a one-off replacement ECU for the VK. If he agrees, I'll send him a core and he'll do his magic, then I'll have a fully programmable ECU for the VK
